“Long time favorite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2014

I have been coming for over 40 years and always enjoy the peaceful setting and the beautiful Napili Bay. Originally spending our April honeymoon here, we switched to the month stay during February. Many friends have been made among the February Gang arriving from all over the country. Delicious food at the Seahouse Restaurant by the shore on the premises is a special feature. Rooms have been recently refurbished, all with views of the sea a few feet away. A great spot!

We loved the Napili Kai as it was tucked into a quiet neighborhood and had a very intimate and warm feeling to it. The staff was exceptional and the remodeled room we stayed in was absolutely spectacular with an oversized balcony and unique Hawaiian decor. We will absolutely return to Napili Kai! We liked it even better than Kapalua.

We have just returned from an eight day day stay at Napili Kai resort. The location is beautiful...a nice beach with good swimming and snorkelling...and resident turtles. Staff were pleasant and helpful, the food that we had on site was very good, although we often ate off site. We had a studio apartment. It was well equipped with a good sized lanai. It was good to have free wi fi in the room. It would have been nice if paddle boards were available on site, but there were rentals nearby. There is a putting course. We hired a car, which is a must in Maui. Free parking on site. It was whale watching season....could see whales from our lanai, from the beach....and even from the road. This resort did not disappoint.

This resort has a perfect location on a lovely bay. We stayed in Puna ll (room 222) which has been recently redecorated with granite countertops in the kitchen and new tile for the bathroom. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed for cooking. We were quite pleased with the room and want to stay there again. We were oceanfront and the views were fabulous. We could see the water from our bed through huge sliding glass doors. Our lanai was a relaxing place to sit and look at the ocean. The Sea House restaurant on site was delicious for breakfast, lunch, happy hour and dinner. We did try other restaurants, but it seemed so easy to stumble over to the Sea House. Several times a week, we sat at the bar and had a happy hour drink while watching the sun set. This is not a "hip" resort, but we found it to fit our needs. completely.

Room Tip: It is annoying that they require an additional fee ($350) to reserve a particular room/building. We...

I hope the share holders read this as they seem to be the ones that could initiate change. Having said that it appears as though most of them
Are quite elderly and may not see what others are complianng about( my grandparents wouldnt)I read a lot of reviews about the rooms being outdated.
What I think these people are saying is the rooms have small old fashion white tile in the shower, floors, and counter tops!
All nice resorts of this price range in mexico are nice new tile, and granite!
As r the new resorts in maui!(westin etc.)
So this is what people are comparing them to!
Although it feels like home to the older generation , it does severely date the rooms amd gives them a grungier feel then a new resort! EVeN thought they are clean, very clean!

Leave the furniture and the decore and change the tile and counters!
It would make the rooms look prestine, clean, and up to date and get rid of the same and only reparative negative review about this resort!
I'm not being picky just trying to make sense of why people are complaining about the rooms when they aren't that bad.
Just don't expect new tile
And granite and u should love it!

I know it's like a comfortable second home to many, but
If the share holders want to pass on their investment and for their investment to do well, they need to think of what the younger generation is looking
for or
Comparing them
To.

We absolutely love staying at his hotel. This was our 6th or 7th stay over 35 years, It is small and family oriented. Perfect for families with small children, or seniors. The beach front is one of the best on the island, wonderful for swimming and snorkeling. The best beach on the Island (Kapalua) is right next door. The staff is low key and extremely courteous. Most of the rooms have been redone over the years. Fortunately the hotel has not been taken over by a hotel chain. We have stayed in several of the buildings over the years but prefer either the Aloha or Lani wings. They don't have AC in those buildings but with the ocean breeze and ceiling fans it is not necessary. They host a weekly cocktail party so the guests can meet and mingle. They serve free coffee and tea at the beach cabana at 10 each morning (along with free coffee earlier in the lobby). There are several pools but they are lightly used because the beach is so friendly. There are ample beach chairs around the pools and on the beach. They have a wonderful putting green. The only negative is that they charge $300 extra to reserve a room in a particular building. This charge is solely to book in a particular location. I have never encountered this at another hotel, and don't like it.

We stayed in a hotel room - not a condominium. The room was spacious and had a great view of the ocean. Favorite things: the bed was super comfortable, separate shower and tub, loved the shampoo (wish I knew where to buy it), air conditioning worked fabulous. I later emailed the resort to find out what type of beds they used and received a response right away.

The property is amazing! Favorite things: the extraordinary landscpaing, the putting green right outside our room, the multiple pools, snack bar with excellent ice cream sandwiches, HUGE whirlpool (with clever name that took me several days to realize), very good restaurant right on the property (better than any others on that side of the island in my opinion)

Napili bay is known as the "bobbing" bay. The waves are pretty nonexistant on most days so you just bob up and down. REALLY relaxing. The next bay over is within walking distance and known for their turtles - which we saw when snorkeling.

I loved the restaurant and had the french onion soup almost every day. Breakfast was also very good. The only negative about our entire trip was the rude bartender (I think his name was Rick).

We plan on staying here again on our next visit to Maui.
