Owner description: “The most extreme Fire-Knife performance on Maui!”The exhilarating Wailele Polynesian Luau has been designed to bring traditional and authentic dances, songs and colorful costumes to visitors of this beautiful island, Maui. Here, guests will embark on a vibrant and exciting journey to the Polynesian Islands where dance was considered a form of vivacious entertainment and as a means of telling stories. Located at the Westin Maui Resort and Spa among lush tropical greenery and flowing waterfalls, the breathtaking sunset forms the perfect backdrop for an evening of entertainment and a delicious Hawaiian meal. The full show is complemented by a four course meal presented family style to each table, just like in the olden days. An open bar offers a free flow of drinks including a signature Mai Tai and other tropical drinks, wines, locally brewed beers, sodas and fruit juices. Local crafters offer interactive arts and culture for guests to enjoy including a poi ball demonstration, tiki carving, hand made jewelry and henna tattoo. The show itself boasts Fijian and Maori Chief choreographed dances from Hawaii, Tahiti, New Zealand and Samoa. The evening concludes with the most extreme fire knife performance on Maui, featuring 5 native dancers led by Chief Tavita, a third generation fire knife dancer. It is a breath taking evening that is truly a magical moment in paradise!

Average luau, food ok, service good. We landed here because the more popular lauas in the area (e.g., Old Lahaina, Hyatt) sell out far in advance. You might want to give this a try if you've never been to a luau. Just know, its cash only once you get in the doors--local artisans and photographers won't take your credit card

“Great Entertainment”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2014

The host of the Luau was sooo funny. His humor was enjoyed by both adults and kids. The dancing and dancers was lovely. My 17year old son and husband were proud as peacocks to have their photo taken with these beautiful girls. The food was very good, from the slow cooked pork to the desserts.

“Great with kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2014

The reason I chose this luau was the fact that they had a kids buffet. My kids are super picky eaters and I figured they wouldn't be open to traditional luau fare. It was perfect for them to eat something they would enjoy (and I have a peanut allergy child), plus we were able to enjoy the food, drinks were good. They had watered down mai tais, but also had regular drinks too.

The show was wonderful. The sunset behind the show was amazing.

They had us take a picture with a dancer which was a great souvenir. They had carvers making small tikis you could buy, both kids wanted them.

“Great "Dinner and a show!" ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2014

This was a great luau!! It was nice that we could eat during the show. Other luaus I have been to have you eat first and then have the "show" afterwards. The food was great; they had all the authentic Hawaiian foods.

The main announcer was REALLY hard to understand, unfortunately. When I could understand him, though, he did a great job and was super funny.

The fire dancing was of course the best part of the show...fabulous!!!

“Do it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2014

The performers are amazing and the service is great! We were deciding between this luau and another for our last night in Maui and I'm so glad we picked this one! The fire throwing is great for kids and adults and the food despite being a buffet is pretty decent. The drinks flow all night and even if you're staying an hour away like we were, it's worth the trip! (Just make your husband drive home!) so glad we did it.
