Owner description: “The most extreme Fire-Knife performance on Maui!”The exhilarating Wailele Polynesian Luau has been designed to bring traditional and authentic dances, songs and colorful costumes to visitors of this beautiful island, Maui. Here, guests will embark on a vibrant and exciting journey to the Polynesian Islands where dance was considered a form of vivacious entertainment and as a means of telling stories. Located at the Westin Maui Resort and Spa among lush tropical greenery and flowing waterfalls, the breathtaking sunset forms the perfect backdrop for an evening of entertainment and a delicious Hawaiian meal. The full show is complemented by a four course meal presented family style to each table, just like in the olden days. An open bar offers a free flow of drinks including a signature Mai Tai and other tropical drinks, wines, locally brewed beers, sodas and fruit juices. Local crafters offer interactive arts and culture for guests to enjoy including a poi ball demonstration, tiki carving, hand made jewelry and henna tattoo. The show itself boasts Fijian and Maori Chief choreographed dances from Hawaii, Tahiti, New Zealand and Samoa. The evening concludes with the most extreme fire knife performance on Maui, featuring 5 native dancers led by Chief Tavita, a third generation fire knife dancer. It is a breath taking evening that is truly a magical moment in paradise!

“One of my favorite Luau experiences!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012

The show was really good. Food was great, the drinks were pretty weak. We have been to 4 different Luau's and this one we thought was probably our second favorite. The fire knife part of the show was the best we had seen.

“Fun experience.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2012 via mobile

We were staying at the westin so we decided to go to this lua. We had payed extra for front row seating. It was cool. The food was good. The fish was good.the dessert was good. The alcoholic drinks were ok. The show was good. Some dancers were better than others, but they all smiled. The fire dancers were very good. The guy that opened the coconut tried to be funny but sometimes it was rude. Its a nice once in a lifetime experience and if you go to Hawaii you should go to a luau and this one is a good one

“overpriced overated”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2012

Not only was the Westin far from 5 stars...the Wailele Luau was far from it too.
Though the dancing was entertaining, the meal was extremely lacking. Venue was not central to most guests and , though we paid for premium seating, most people had a poor view.
I would not and do not spending the big bucks on this one.

“Awesome show!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

This show has it all, comedy, great dancers, fire eating, and great food! There were lots of different options of items to eat so everyone in our group (2 seniors, 2 adults, one teenager, and a nine year old) could find something they liked. Everyone also loved the show. We laughed and were in awe.

“An Evening Well Spent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2012

We have been to several luau's on Kauai, Oahu, and Maui...and last night's Wailele presentation was seriously one of the best! I have to disagree with some of the other posters from last night - we were in the front of the seating area (premium seating) and did not notice the glare from the sun for more than 5-10 minutes prior to the show beginning. Our waitress was wonderful - she interacted with the children and gave us a little history of the food as it was introduced. The food was delicious - honestly, it was better than any of the other luau's we've attended. The table service was an added bonus - no trying to fumble with plates and work your way between tables - you just sat and enjoyed! She continually reminded us that we could have more food if we'd like! The appetizers were excellent; the salad was so fresh tasting with the taro rolls, etc! The fish/pork/chicken were all great! The show itself was very entertaining...great history lesson with each segment! The highlight of the evening is definately the fire dancers...I had researched this online prior to booking and the Chief certainly did not disappoint! If you are trying to decide on a luau - you can't go wrong with the Westin Wailele Luau!
