“Great condo and location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

Our family stayed in B206. This was a unit with two bedrooms and two baths. The accommodations were good and we love this location. The second room was a bit loud by the street and the beds in that room were not very comfortable but the main room was fine. It was nice having a kitchen, which was one of the main reason for selecting this location but it we quickly found we needed to wash all the dishes before we used them. It was nice having he cabana at the beach but did not realize food and beverages were available for purchase until the second day. I would stay here again as well as recommend it.

Our experience at the Outrigger Maui Eldorado FAR exceeded our expectations. We can't wait to go back, and we hope we can take friends to join us. For about the same nightly price that we paid to stay at the run-down Maui Beach Hotel, (with extremely poor location and just a bed), we stayed in a beautiful one-bedroom condo with full kitchen. The resort is beautiful and the location is killer. We loved being able to walk to Whaler's Cove in the evening...watching the sunset, seeing all the lit tiki torches, hearing the music, having a nice dinner and cocktail at the beach. It was like our honeymoon on Keywest, only better. We loved being only a short distance from Old Town Lahania and our favorite snorkeling spot at Kapalua. Just got home and we are already planning our next visit.

Room Tip: The golf course view was beautiful and serene.

Aloha 2Wanderlust101:

Thank you for posting a review of your vacation with us. We are so happy that we exceeded your expectations; it's not every day that we are compared so favorably to your honeymoon location!

I appreciate your recognition of the value our condominiums represent as compared to a regular hotel room. Staying at the Outrigger Maui Eldorado is really like having your own home on Maui! And our Kaanapali location is about halfway between Lahainatown and Kapalua, making everything on Maui's west side readily accessible.

We look forward to your next visit with your friends, and we hope to see you again soon!

This review is late but wanted to let others know of our experience at the Maui Eldorado.

There were three of us and we have stayed at several different locations on Maui. This year we selected the Eldorado based on online reviews and the Kaanapali location and stayed for one week in late spring. We booked the room directly with the Outrigger using a AAA or senior discount.

The resort is located along a beautiful golf course with the cabana and ocean on the other side. There are many different buildings which are spread out. The units are privately owned and so the décor and condition of each varies, depending on the owner. Not all units are close to a parking lot but help with luggage on arrival is available. When you make a reservations, you need to request what you want and they will do their best to accommodate you.

We booked a 2 bedroom/2 bath Garden View but were upgraded to an ocean view which turned out to be one of the best places we have ever stayed. It was at the end of the same building as the lobby on the ground floor, right off the main road. The unit was extremely quiet and peaceful. We always found parking right in front and could stop by the office with questions or for supplies.

This condo was wonderful! The unit was recently renovated and everything was in great condition. There were two large bedrooms with baths on different sides of the unit. Each had a large dressing area and lots of closet and drawer space. A stackable washer/dryer was convenient . The kitchen was supplied with everything we needed and there is a dining area and nice living area. There were sliding doors from one bedroom and the living area with a table and chairs outside. Both overlooked the golf course, cabana, palm trees and ocean. In the evening, the sunsets were stunning.

You can walk to the cabana or call for a ride. The Sheraton Black Rock, Kaanapali Beach and Whaler’s Village are within walking distance and Lahaina is just a few miles away.

We hope to return to Hawaii next year. If Maui, we would definitely stay at the Eldorado. If another island, we will look at what Outrigger has available.

Special thanks to Tamara and the staff for taking care of us and making our vacation so enjoyable. Mahalo for a wonderful time!

Aloha CATravelOn:

Thank you for staying with us at the Outrigger Maui Eldorado. We're glad to read that you enjoyed your stay and that you found our location along the Kaanapali golf course and your condon unit to be perfect for your holiday.

The Outrigger Maui Eldorado is designed so that the view from almost all units does not include looking at a parking lot. Since that means there may be a distance between your car and your front door, our bellman is always happy to help with your luggage or groceries. And we do offer shuttle service between the lobby and our beachfront cabana at your request during the cabana's open hours.

Thank you also for recognizing Tamara and my staff. They all work hard to be sure that everyone has a great stay.

I appreciate your taking the time to post a review of your stay. We hope to see you all again next time.

This was our first time in Maui and it won't be our last.
After reading lots of reviews we settled on Eldorado and I am so happy we did. I want to aim this review a little toward Australians as they may not rent a car so this place is a fantastic location if you don't have one.
Our room was spotless and roomy, we had a kitchen and dining table. There is a great little group of shops called Fairway and it had some great little restaurants and cafes, they were also getting a small convenience store(it was being done and looked due to open soon). CJ's diner was great and they had a lunch special that you could take down to the beach. The cabana at the beach was a real plus as you could leave your beach bag there or your lunch in the fridge and come back and relax after a swim. We found the best snorkelling just in front of the Westin it was much better than Black Rock.
Whalers village is an easy stroll and you can catch the local bus to Lahaina or Kapalua, the buses are cheap and seem to go about every hour. The restaurants at Whalers Village are lovely I would recommend sitting at the Sheraton on sunset and watch the torch lighting ceremony at Black Rock, although I would only have a drink there as the food was really average. Leilani's is a lovely restaurant on the beach and it is a lovely spot to watch the sunset.
All round I think Maui Eldorado is in a great spot,it is the only resort that had a cabana on the beach, the grounds are lovely and the pools are more than adequate. It is walking distance to great restaurants but also is serviced by the free shuttle which is really handy. The staff were lovely although the tour desk lady was quite disinterested and had no advice for us at all unless we wanted to do the road to Hana, she basically told that was the only activity to do. Thank god for trip advisor as it almost makes a job like hers redundant.
We would definitely stay here again you just can't beat the location and the beach.

Aloha marras01:

Thank you for staying with us at the Outrigger Maui Eldorado. It sounds like you really took good advantage of our Kaanapali location and it's nice to read that you had a great time without needing a car. Our unique beachfront cabana really gives you more time to spend snorlking, relaxing or whatever you want to do without having to go back and forth to your condo.

The front desk always has the schedule for the Maui Bus, which serves most of the island, as well as for the complimentary resort jitney, the Kaanapali Trolley.

Quite a bit is happening at the Fairway Shops, just across the street. In addition to CJ's and the new convenience store (which is now open), there will be a Mexican restaurant and a dive/snorkel store.

Thank you for your kind words about my staff. Thank you, too, for mentioning your experience at the activity desk. I will share your words with those responsible for both areas.

We appreciate your taking the time to add your review to the conversation about our resort. We look forward to seeing you again the next time you visit Maui!

We stayed at the Outrigger Maui Eldorado for 2 weeks. The condo was super, we had a partial ocean view and plenty of space to spread out with our 3 kids. The Eldorado is close to the beach, a short walk through the golf course. It has the only Cabana on the beach which was great for towels. The beach was beautiful and when we were there not very crowded. We were able to walk to the Sheraton and black rock for great snorkeling. Whaler's Village is an easy walk with shops and restaurants. This place is really central. We appreciated the fact we did not have to get in the car all the time.

Our first vacation to Hawaii/Maui and the Ourigger was wonderful. I chose it based off reviews by trip advisor and I am so glad I did. My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary from June 13-20th. The condo was spacious and clean. All the ammenties were great. It came with everything we needed including blow dryer, iron, all kitchen utensils including sharp knifes. It was also stocked with coffee, paper towels, trash bags, etc... The staff was very helpful with planning activities as well as giving directions. We had a great view of the garden and golf course off our patio and it was just a short walk to the cabana and beach. Parking in the garage was simply and very much worth the $8.00. A day. It was close to major shops and the location was perfect to many things we wanted to do on the island. The area around Black Rock was more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. Crystal blue clear water and plenty of areas to snorkel with the turtles and many varieties of fish. The daily lighting of torches on Black Rock was also wondering at sunset. We will for sure be back and we will stay at the Eldarado again. We stayed in J109 and it was absolutely wonderful. No matter where you stay, renting a car is a must if you want to see more of the beautiful island. we also drove the road to Hana. what a beautiful drive. A big Thank You to the entire staff of the Outrigger Eldarado for making our Anniversary Vacation a wonderful time. Sincerely Kyle and Jan Sims

Room Tip: I chose the garden view only because it was a little better value. It is just as good as the ocean v...

The golfcart service runs between the lobby and our beachfront cabana on your request between 9:30am and 5:30pm.

It seems like, no matter where you stay on Maui, everything that you want to see is on another part of the island! Unless you are planning to spend every day at the cabana, you really do need to rent a car, no matter where you stay here.

Stayed here 5 nights with my wive.

Large, clean room with kitchen, including an oven so if you want you can save money and do your own cooking. If so, get your supplies at Safeway, just a few miles down the road.

The hotel has several swimming pools which are cleaned daily.

No housekeeping since you are technicaly in a condo and not a hotelroom, but if you need cleaning, new towels or additional toiletpaper you can call (or walk to) reception.

You can walk to the beach or have on of the hotelstaff bring you there in one of their golfcarts (complementary service).

We would definitely stay hete again, but it's quite a drive to all of Maui's attractions.
