“Clean, private and relaxing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2011

My daughter's tennis team traveled to Maui to compete in the state tennis tournament. A very stressful time for all. The team parent arranged all the accommodation and so I had no idea what to expect. My flight arrived in the evening and I had to make my way to the hotel (in Lahina in the dark. I called the hotel for directions and the call was answered by a warm and reassuring staff member. Her directions were helpful and appropriate to someone who didn't know the area. When I arrived at the hotel, I was greeted by name and welcomed with warmth and aloha. The accommodations were newly rennovated, very clean and the shower was delightfully hot. The lanai was spacious, all appliances worked perfectly and there was evident given care to the suite from top to bottom. I will definitely plan a future vacation to this delightful, yet quiet place.

Room Tip: I think all rooms are great.

This is a well-kept "older" condomium located on Kaanapali Beach area. Probably one of the best kept "secrets" in the Kaanapali area. It is a wonderful location (close to beach, highway, Lahaina, Kapalua, etc.). The rooms are clean, comfortable, spacious and a great layout. There are ample walkways in-between the buildings, a nice swimming pool deck, barbecue area. I brought a fairly large group of people here (10 rooms+) and everyone had a wonderful experience. The 2-bedrooms, 1-bedrooms and studio units were just wonderful to spread out and stay at. Great value for the money in Kaanapali!

Room Tip: Spend the extra moneys to get an ocean view room!

I was responsible for picking the place that we were to be staying at and I felt like I did a darn good job. The rooms were clean. Daily maid service meant that the vacuum was used, the dishwasher got run, bathrooms cleaned, fresh towels brought in and the rooms got cleaned as soon as we left; be it morning or afternoon. Kitchens were fully equipped. Barbecues around the pool were gas and cleaned daily. We had private patios with chairs/tables/chaise lounges and ate breakfast outside. It was quiet at night, no loud noises, no partying crowds...but the best of all was the beach and the cabana! The beach was the best. Mostly sand but with1 area of lava rock (Black Rock - a well known snorkel spot) which made for great snorkeling--even saw a turtle. Little waves, easy to get in and out of the water. I don't like laying in the sand so the cabana was wonderful. Chaise lounges that we could move under the overhang so that we didn't have to be in the sun, full kitchen with all the blenders, appliances, dishes that you could possibly need. We lounged down there all day AND the beach was less crowded than if you stayed at the Whaler's Village hotels/resorts! We ranged in age from 19 to 71 and we all thought it was a great spot.

Thank you for bringing your extended family to stay with us. We're happy to hear that everyone enjoyed their stay with us. The convenience of our oceanfront cabana makes a beach vacation so much more civilized! We're happy to read how much you enjoyed spending your vacation time there.

Thank you for your kind words about our housekeeping staff and also for taking the time to post your review. Make it easy on yourself next year and plan to come back - we'd love to see you all again! A Hui Hou!

I would not recomend this hotel. We had a problem with the laundry facilities in our studio apartment. Most of our clothes had what looked like rust spots all over. The management did give us about 1/3 compensation for these clothes by not charging us parking fees during our stay. We were still out quite a bit of money for the ruined clothing.
We also found our unit to be well used and not very clean. There are so many other beautiful places to stay in Maui that I wouldn't waste my time or money staying at the Maui Eldorado again.

Thank you for taking the time to post your reivew. I am sorry to hear that you were not happy with our property or our service.

I apologize that you feel our resolution of your claim regarding your clothes was insufficient. As you may know, for claims of this nature, certain requirements must be met in order for reimbursement to be made.

As each of our units here are different, we would have been happy to provide you with alternate accommodations had we known of your unhappiness with the unit to which you were assigned. Additionally, we would have been happy to ask our housekeeping department to redouble their efforts had we been aware of your dissatisfaction.

Thank you for your recent stay with us. If you decide that you would like to stay with us again, we would be delighted to see you. A Hui Hou!

My sister found this jewel several years ago, and we have continued the tradition of Spring Break in Maui at the Maui El Dorado for five years now with extended family. She has been coming back much longer. From the mature well manicured grounds, handy cabana on the beach, proximity to Whaler's Village with shopping, dining and shows, clean and comfortable condos with full kitchens and equipment, including blenders, washer and dryer, gas grills, three swimming pools, beautiful lanai to enjoy morning coffee and cocktails in the evening while enjoying the sunset, and helpful, amazing staff ( A BIG SHOUT OUT TO ROSS, at the front desk), you cannot find a better condo. The Maui Eldorado is an amazing value in an amazing location in Kaanapali.

The property was built in 1960, but is well maintained inside and out. Each condo is individually owned and some have been updated more recently. We have always been pleased with the rooms from the Studios to the two bedrooms. All of the rooms have met our needs from Grandparents to little ones.

A five minute, easy walk to the beach cabana, or a complimentary ride on the hotel golf cart, will take you to a wonderful beach to swim, snorkel or just hang out. Never crowded, lots of fish by the rocks. The cabana has restrooms, towels, chairs, and complete kitchen with ice machine. Chairs and tables inside and chaise lounges on the deck. Faith, the cabana attendant on the weekends is a sweetheart and a wealth of Maui knowledge. I look forward to seeing her each year as we are both teachers.

We sing your praises, Maui Eldorado!

Loved the location and had a great room at the El Dorado. Only problem, there was an event going on the golf course for employees of a company it was a noisy set up for days and the day of the concert we were told to leave the beach early. I felt that this was very unfair and no one at the front desk mentioned this event, they made jokes about it. It wasn't a joke to me! I live on the east coast and this was a trip that required a lot of planning and money. Just wish we would have been told in advance about this.

We found this to be a wonderful location. It was very clean and quiet. The beach is excellent and the pool is not crowded. It was the people that made the biggest different. A special thank you to Ross for all his help.
