The hotel is located in a quiet section of town right on the beach next to Black Rock (good snorkeling). Our room was beautiful... actually it was more like a suite, even though we had paid a really good price through a vacation company! The staff were the best we have encountered anywhere - always willing to help, and they seemed really genuine. Upon arrival a box of chocolate and card were waiting for us in our room, and we had turndown service with an orchid and cookies on our pillow nightly!! Nice! Also included (which we didn't know until check in) was a daily buffet breakfast - eggs, ham, oatmeal, cereal, potatoes, waffles, tropical juice, fruit, and coffee... there was SO much food, and it was free too!! The rave reviews you read about this hotel are absolutely true, we had a wonderful stay and will definitely return!!!

We stayed here the last week in April 04. The hotel was nice. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The pool wasn't as fancy as some of the other hotels but it was very low key and uncrowded-there was always plenty of lounge chairs and shade-not a lot of loud kids. They have a great tiki bar with good drink specials everyday. The tiki hut grill also served up suprisingly good munchies also at a reasonable price. We received free breakfast buffet tickets because our booking agency had made a mistake-I would not recommend using these for the Mixed Plate buffet. The food here was cold and not very good. Not much variety either. You can use your breakfast tickets at the other Tiki restaurant where the food is much better-don't waste your time going to the Mixed plate buffet. The hotel is a very short walk from black rock where there is the best snorkeling-almost better than the snorkeling cruise to Molikini we took. We saw some turtles and tons of fish too. Also a very short walk to the Whalers Village where there is lots of good shopping and great restaurants-try Hula Grill or Leilani's. We tried them both and we would highly recommend them. There is no jacuzzi at the hotel but we just walked next door to the Whaler hotel/condo resort and used there's-they didn't mind. The room we had was kind of outdated but very clean-you're hardly ever in your room anyways. It was actually a garden view room but we still had a really good ocean view. We had requested a renovated room but there wasn't one available when we checked in. All in all this place was pretty nice and we had no complaints. We would definately stay here again. It's a lot less expensive than all of the other hotels. Some people will always find something to complain about so I wouldn't be too concerned about the other reviews on this site. You can save yourself lots of money by choosing to stay here and you are right next to the best snorkeling on the island-who could ask for anything more?

We stayed at this hotel 05/07-05/12 and will return one day. The entire staff was helpful and polite. The bartenders at the Tiki Bar are very fast and the drinks are yummy. The location is fabulous. Our package included free breakfast at the Ka'anapali Mixed Plate on premise, the food was satisfactory. This vacation was perfect! thank you KBH!

We returned to the Ka'anapali Beach Hotel in mid February and stayed for three weeks. Upon our arrival, we were greeted warmed and welcomed as though we were family. Our room was clean and spacious, overlooking the courtyard with a grand view of the ocean. Everyday, we were greeting with a smile and "Aloha" no matter where we went.
The services were better than expected for the amount of money it cost. During our stay, the was "bad weather" and the hotel had guests that had to "extend" their stay longer. This made the hotel rather crowded and some new arrivals were sent to other hotels for one or two nights (of course the Ka'anapali Beach Hotel picked up the tab). They took you there and picked you up when a room was available. Not many hotels will do that! Many times when that happens, upon returning to the KBH, you would be treated to either a huge fruit plate with crackers and cheeses along with a variety of fresh island fruits or maybe a free dinner. Not bad!
Any activity that we wanted to do could be set up by the people that work at the Activity Center, located right in the lobby. They arranged great seats at the Old Lahaina Luau for us. Any type of activity that you might want to do on Maui can be scheduled for you right there. And if you want to bring pineapple home from your trip, they can arrange to have "your pineapple" meet you right at the airport! That's service! We even took hula lessons at no charge! Children activites can also be arranged. Something for everyone!
The night before we were to leave, under our door, there was an invitation to their "Farewell Ceremony" held in the hotel lobby ever hour, on the hour from 8 until noon, daily. That ceremony brought tears to my eyes! Sad tears because our vacation was ending, and tears of joy because of the wonderful way in which we were treated. We DID NOT want to leave! this hotel is not wall to wall people and there is plenty of room to lay on the beach or lay on a beach chair in the courtyard. We would go back and NEVER think about staying any other place except the Ka'anapali Beack Hotel.

We have visited Hawaii five times and have stayed at The Kaanapali Beach Hotel for a week each time.
In our opinion it is the most Hawaiian hotel.
We have stayed at some of the biggest hotels on the other islands - and they are wonderful too.
The KBH, however, has a much more relaxed atmosphere with lots of island culture available.
We have stayed in three of the buildings and always had a clean and attractive room.
We especially enjoyed their entertainment in the evenings. It gave us a real love for Hawaiian music and we have added many CD's to our collection.
We definitely will return to Hawaii in the near future. We wouldn't dream of booking the trip without a week of it spent at The Kannapali Beach Hotel. It feels like going home!
