This hotel is a great value for those who want to experience Hawaiian culture while staying at a comfortable hotel with beautiful grounds and the most lovely beach in Maui only a stone's throw away.
The hotel isn't brand new and it isn't a place that gouges you for a high price because it is loaded with fancy pools and expensive amenities. When you walk in the door, you become aware that the staff are Hawaiians born here who value the traditions of Hawaii and are eager to show you real Hawaiian hospitality and make your stay a joy. Not only are they ultra-friendly and gracious, they are truly helpful in helping you make the most of your vacation. Count on them to help you find the best of the island to see and do and make arrangements for you. Try to find that at the pricey hotels for all visitors for free!
You will choose your room according to the view you want. You can choose rooms that overlook the pool or courtyard but for us, the best rooms are those with a garden view or an ocean front view. Their courtyard and gardens are special places with gorgeous tropical landscaping and a variety of stunningly beautiful birds show up there each day. It is not noisy as many other places are so you can sit out on your lanai and enjoy the birds, the flowers, and the ocean. I also love the ocean front rooms with a view of the ocean and beach.
Rooms are comfortable. The beds are dreamy and the furniture is tasteful and comfortable, They are beautifully done.
Free breakfast buffet! You can get a real breakfast (not just continental) here with loads of choices and the Sunday Buffet has won awards from the Maui newspaper (voted on by locals) as best Sunday Brunch. In fact, the locals frequent the Tiki Terrace with its Pacific Rim breakfast. Dinner is available also and there is an enormous selection and variety. There are also two cute Tikis that house the Tiki Bar and the Tiki Grill. The Tiki Grill is for light meals and snacks like salads, pizza, sandwiches, and appetizers.
Also, there is free Hawaiian music played in the eating areas and the grounds by live musicians and free hula shows. You will also enjoy being serenaded by singing Hawaiian waitstaff.
There is a pool which isn't fancy (though it has a sand bottom) but the real attraction is the ocean and that wonderful beach. Meander through the courtyard and gardens when you want a bit of shade.
Every day there are different Hawaiian activities like making leis. At sunset, rest and enjoy the free hula show.
If you are on your honeymoon or are a senior, you can get free upgrades. There is a free Aloha Passport for Kids program for kids 12 and under. You also will enjoy a traditional lei ceremony.
I don't have anything negative to say about this place. If you want comfort, value, beautiful grounds, a near by beach, good food and a lot of authentic Hawaiian cultural freebies with a friendly staff, this is the place for you.
