For the money you spend on this hotel all you get is the room. They charge extra for everything, room safe, coffee in your room, internet ($9.99/day). The hotel is older but clean and most of the staff treated us as an annoyance. The restaurant was over priced and had poor quality food, especially the breakfast buffet. I would not recommend this hotel or restaurant.

The Ka'anapali Beach Hotel is nice, clean, affordable hotel in the best location on Maui. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. Towels in the room and at the pool/beach are large and fluffy. The employees are all very nice and our room was cleaned early and efficiently. You can always find a lounge chair by the pool. At the Tiki restaurant I had one of the best fresh fish dinners ever - Pink Snapper it was incredible. The Tiki Grill had very affordable lunches and the fish and chicken on a skewer were perfect for watching the calories. The Tiki Bar had great drinks at affordable prices and every day there was a drink special! The hotel also has a welcome breakfast for free and a good bye ceremony when you leave. Very nice, very Hawaiian, and also located at the best beach in Maui!

Room Tip: Choose a pool view room and ask for the highest floor and you will have a pool view and an ocean vie...

One of my favorite places to visit! My husband and I spent our Anniversary here and came back for our 10 year anniversary. I absolutely love this hotel It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that the Sheraton next door has, but it makes you feel totally welcomed and enfolded into the Hawaiian culture. I tend to think that recently it has turned more to an older crowd...grey hairs seem to flock to it! Rare to see young folks and families, but we really enjoyed it! We snuck into the Sheraton hot tub and got the best of both worlds!
The staff is over the top friendly and helpful. They truly smile from their hearts and make it their mission to make sure you have a good time. From the Welcome breakfast to the nightly entertainment, to the daily Hawaiian activities, you will never be bored here!
I recommend it to anyone!

This comfortable little hotel is Grandma's favorite spot in all of Hawaii. Excellent location: just a 5 minute walk to Whalers Village and right on the prettiest beach on Maui. We look forward to coming back as soon as we can!

We flew from O'ahu to Maui for a couple of days to get away from work. The hotel, as an overall facility, is nice. Beautifully manicured grounds on the interior with beach access made me overlook the age of the room, which was comfortable, but due for an update. Each wing is named after a major island in the chain, which can be confusing. We were told we were in room #352 in the Lana'i wing. To me, this implied there was more than one room #352 and I had better make sure I went to the correct wing. This is not the case. Easily overcome, but still, at reception, it made for a moment of undue confusion. The restaurant is average. Portions were a bit small compared to what I am used to. However, the staff is incredibly friendly and full of aloha. They clearly care about their guests and their experience. The small Hawaiian band playing during dinner was a treat, as well. Living on O'ahu, I planned our activities before we went, so we didn't take advantage of what KBH offered, so I can't speak to that.

With a group, we stayed here two nights recently. We were reasonably pleased. Our room was clean. The bed and pillows could have been better. I thought that their food was overpriced for what we were served.

If you want a great location right on the beach, beautiful grounds, great walking paths, proximity to shopping, friendly competent staff, very clean rooms - at a reasonable price, this is a good choice. Our stay at the KBH in late February/early March 2013 couldn't have been better. From their Welcoming Breakfast to the Farewell Ceremony, their services are delivered with efficiency and courtesy. The employees at the concierge desk are well informed and considerate. Admittedly, it is an older hotel but the positive attributes outweigh the need for modern decorating. The only downside for me was that the Wi-fi service could have been better, but not a big deal.
We ate frequently at the on-site Hula Grill which provides excellent short order type meals, reasonably priced. A variety of dining options close to the KBH are available. A bonus is the free nightly Hula Show which was always entertaining. I would recommend the Trilogy Whale watching tour -- the whales swam right underneath our catamaran. The journey to Hana was a highlight of our holiday and we were glad we utilized a tour operator (Valley Isle Excursions) in order that we could have an informed, entertaining, safe trip.
We will definitely return to the KBH.
