Moderately priced, family oriented hotel on one of the great beaches on earth. Free nightly entertainment, good restaurants and very accommodating staff. Stay there. Parking is extra, but very convenient.

Kaanapali Beach Hotel was nice. We were part of a tour group that stayed for two nights. We had a partial view of the ocean. On arrival we had a welcome meeting with the staff and they were very helpful (we requested and had a room change to be close to our friends). Breakfast buffet was good and they accommodated an early buffet on our departure. Of the four islands we visited Maui and our hotel had the nicest beach. It didn't hurt that we could sit on the beach with our binoculars and watch the whales, AWESOME, to say the least. The Tiki bar was great and apparently "the" place for locals to go. It was nice having the nightly entertainment. The hotel also has washers and dryers that were kept busy since our group was half way through our tour. The hotels have a free shuttle that runs guests into town. Something that was truly memorable was the farewell from the hotel staff. They present each guest with an KuKui lei and sing to us. Many of us shed a tear. They have done this with departing visitors ever since 911 when they had many souls stranded at their hotel. So nice. The only issue we had was the wifi.

Kaanapali Beach Hotel was wonderful. It is an older hotel, but beautiful and more authentically "Hawaiian" than any of the nearby accomodations we've previously visited. The staff were extremely courteous and the location amazing! While we passed rooms at KHB that appeared to overlook the roof of the hotel laundry room, we were fortunate enough to be placed in the building closest to the beach with a second story balcony and unobstructed view of the ocean. We arrived rather late in the evening, so we were thrilled at the kindness of the staff to place our tired bodies in such a nice location in their hotel...a very warm THANK YOU to the front desk for being so kind. The room was nice and large, quite roomy for a family of four, beds were comfortable, rooms quiet and clean[ish] ( will get to that in a sec) and the location perfect for us as our favorite snorkel locaton, Black Rock, was a very quick and easy walk w/o all the fuss we typically face when looking for parking. The only 'complaint" I had was the laundry room -the dryers are kind of costly and require multiple cycles to dry even small loads - time to retire these old guys. Additionally....we were a little underwhelmed with the house keeping. We returned to our 'cleaned' room to find trash cans unemptied, toilet paper roll still empty [no spare rolls anywhere], replacement towels tossed on top of our personal effects. These were just small things that we noted but didn't give us a warm feeling about what else was being missed between guests. Still, this locaton has nothing but great memories for us and we will DEFINITELY be returning next year..same bat time, same bat place. This was our second stay in Maui and our first at KBH and we loved it! We loved the friendliness of the staff and the joy they had with each other which showed me that this is not only a great place to work but also a great place to visit! I recommend the welcome breakfast, it isn't a time share trick, just a great breakfast welcoming you to their "home". The music every evening was fun and the beach was great! We snorkled at black rock and saw the turtle more than once! We had beach days and highly recommend renting the cabana, so fun to have your own little tent. The trilogy staff was great too and cared enough not to rent us snorkle equipment on the day it was too windy and the waves too rough. We loved our room on the 6th floor of the Lanai tower with great views off the balcony and out the back door too! We can't wait to stay here again! Only default was the internet wasn't available in our room it was supposed to have been but it wouldn't work. It was wireless from the pool but you had to find shade to be able to read your screen. Others had trouble logging on by the pool so I know it was more frustrating for others. But it's my holiday, internet = work.. it's okay it didn't work so great...
