“Great location in Maui..”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013

We stayed at this property first week in December, had an oceanview room which was really an oceanfront we thought! From the 8th floor we could view the ocean, the pool, and as very quiet to sit on the balcony with our coffee every morning. The bed was very comfortable, I can not say enough about how our room was serviced, we would go to breakfast every morning and by the time we came back our room was spotless. I was concerned about the noise from construction going on, but it did not affect us at all, and the people on site who sold the timeshares never bothered us, and went out of their way to say hello and see if we needed directions to anything. The beach is small, but you can walk 5 minutes to a larger stretch of sand if needed, and there is so much to do in that area as far as restaurants, shopping etc. The only complaint that I have is that 6 nights was not enough!

We stayed here a couple of weeks ago (this was my fourth time staying at the Hyatt Regency Maui). By far, this is the nicest resort on Kaanapali Beach! The grounds are beautiful! Dined at Japengo and the food was very good. The service is always consistently good. They are building a time share building on property however the noise did not bother us at all, the Resort does a great job of making sure that the construction does not get in the way of guests. The water slide is very exciting (brings out the kid in you!). The Drums of the Pacific is a must do, I would have to say that it is the most exciting luau on the islands and the food is delicious. Will definitely return again!

We visited this resort the first week in November and can not wait to go back! The views are amazing everywhere you go in this hotel. The location is unbeatable, and the food at the resort is amazing. The pool is one of the best on the island, we looked a few different resorts while we were there and not impressed. Amanda the manager on duty was beyond nice and definitly put the finally touches on our visit that pushed it over the edge, we can not wait to come back. There is construction but honestly we forgot it was even going on you can not hear or see it only when you look for it you might notice it. You can not go wrong, this is one of the best resorts we have ever been too.

This was a wonderful stay. Everybody that worked there was very nice and helpful. The grounds were spectacular. The room was very clean and they were right on top of our every need. We loved the pool bar. All of the bartenders there were amazing at remembering us. They were top notch. We loved going down for breakfast every morning. It was very relaxing. We met so many wonderful couples. and a great group of girls from Australia. I also learned how to scuba dive there. I am afraid of the ocean but they helped me to get past my fears. Truly look forward to going back.

Room Tip: We did the full ocean view it was so worth it.

Yes, this hotel is undergoing some remodeling in areas and yes, there is a building being built next door, BUT that didn't affect our opinion of this place. Good on them for making the improvements....they gotta do it sometime. Plus the grounds are large enough that you could move away from any construction noise during the day. This hotel is fantastic in so many ways.... First, there are 3 wonderful restaurants on property. They have a nice pool deck. Their luau is a terrific Polynesian show. Their oceanfront spa is a class act. All of the hotel staff were so nice & helpful. The concierges were also super friendly and booked us on all of our activities, while saving us money....we liked that! We took a timeshare presentation at the hotel to get our luau for free. The presentation itself was actually very interesting & enjoyable. The hotel has a beautiful beach out front. We liked our shore scuba diving from the beach, but would recommend to walk to Black Rock to do snorkeling. And lastly, they have penguins. Yep, real live South African penguins. What a fun surprise! We'll be back to this resort.

So disappointing when you agree to pay these prices and they treat you like crap when you arrive. Understaffed at check in, one person handling a long line, while two staff helped Diamond and Gold members. To top if off, after 45 minute wait, the one person helping us regular customer asks if anyone on the line is Diamond...and helps someone at the back of the line who just walked in! I found the "manager" and all he said was "sorry.: If it was not a holiday and I did not have three young tired kids with me, I would have walked out and found ANYPLACE else to stay.

We stay here for our first few night of our honeymoon, the staff were so polite and couldn't do enough to help you. We had a mountain view room, if we were to here again i would get an ocean view room. Breakfast was awesome, you can get your own omelette made fresh or pick any thing else in there, eating right beside the water fall. The pools were great and there is even a slippery dip for the kids. We did our culture dinner feast here (Luau) It was great. We hope to go back soon but this time we will be taking the kids.

Room Tip: Book a ocean view room.
