“Expensive and worth it.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

We had a great room in the tower facing the ocean with a small balcony with table. Enjoyed the whale-watching and sunsets from our room. Only negative was being over the luau every night and that guy gets cheesy quick! All the food and drinks we had at the property were excellent and there was always something vegetarian for me. Obviously expect to pay quite a bit for any item at Hyatt. The pool is also amazing with a water slide, kiddie pool, waterfalls, lounges, and even a grotto bar! The stores in the hotel are open pretty late too, which is nice. The athletic club is awesome with all the equipment you'll need for strength training and even various exercise classes. There is a fridge in the room too, which is appreciated. Only two things annoyed me - the water took about 5 minutes to warm up in the shower. Second, the maid would be around our room all day but not do it until late afternoon which seemed a bit weird. The beds are decent, but not as good as those lovely Marriott beds, but you gotta love having robes and great toiletries (even toothpaste!). Nothing is within close walking distance so you'll probably utilize your car some. We were able to enjoy the free food for people with status and that gave us some good breakfast and snacks. If you're planning on doing business from the hotel be aware that their business center is only open during 9-5 hours and they charge ridiculous rates. I suggest heading to the Office Depot in Lahaina for a much better price on faxes and such. There is a place to print your airline tickets in the hotel lobby for free.

We stayed here our second time back to Maui, because we wanted to stay near Lahaina this time. I'm glad we did, it was more lively and the grounds are gorgeous. They have penguins on the grounds and in the morning (around 9 am, I believe) they feed them. Overall it was a nice stay, and the room was comfortable and okay. The pool is really nice and has great views of the ocean.

Room Tip: We had the option of paying more for an "ocean view" however we got to look at the two roo...

I recently stayed here and was completely blown away by the service I received! Planning a trip can be stressful and everyone on staff made it so easy and fun! From booking excursions to making dinner reservations to even the valet being speedy with the car!! Great stay, will definitely book again!

Recently I stayed at this property and was beyond satisfied with my experience. The most important factors to me when selecting a hotel are the location, the food/drinks, and service. The location was ideal as well as the layout of the property. We had a gorgeous view from our balcony. The food that we had was delicious. Great selection! We loved Japengo! The food that is available to order poolside is very good. They have delicious Bloody Mary's....definitely order one if you are a Bloody Mary person. The spa is modern and the workout facility is 24 hours which is a great perk. All of the staff that we encountered were friendly and really went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying our stay.

It's huge, it's made of concrete, but it's in Hawaii. The last in a long row of expansive hotels and vacation properties the Hyatt is indistinguishable from its neighbours. What sets it apart is the service.

The front desk staff offered us an upgrade to a partial ocean view despite the fact that we booked with priceline at a significant discount. When we got up to the room, it had not yet been vacated by the previous guests. The same receptionist offered us a few drinks by the pool while we waited.

We woke up early for a beach boot camp class offered by the fitness centre. Again great teacher, and best workout spot you could ask for... beachfront!

Spent the morning by the pool and left the property during the day. What's surprising to me is how many people crowd around the pool during the day. You're in Hawaii, walk down to the beach, barely 100 metres away. It's glorious! Granted the beach just in front of the Hyatt is not the best piece of sand real estate, but all beaches in Hawaii are public so keep walking north towards the Marriott where the sand gets more plentiful.

We went down to the beach for a picnic dinner of fresh ahi poke (marinated tuna from the local Foodland supermarket) while watching the sun come down and whales breaching in the distance. One of my most memorable memories of the trip.

We stayed for 2 nights before moving to a campground in Olowalu (I highly recommend a camping experience on the island!)

During our stay the front desk also sent up a bottle of red wine, some chocolate macadamias and cookies, all to make up for the late check-in. Really nice of them. We hadn't even complained.

All around a pleasant stay. Not much to say for the room. Really just an average Hyatt a bit daetd and worn as I'm sure it gets a lot of traffic.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on higher floor away from parking lot as the car alarms can be a nuisance.

beautiful resort, lots to see here.only bad things here are the pool which becomes very crowded as it is on the small side and the beach because there is not one.restaurants are all good.try to get the breakfast buffet included in the price of the room(if you book with aaa or get the aaa rate it is included) otherwise its $27 pp and not worth it.if your booking soon, don`t get the obstructed view room to save a couple dollars, these rooms overlook new construction and are very noisy and the view is bad.

Room Tip: rooms in the main tower or the south tower are the best

Aloha Skippyjonjones!

Thanks for taking a moment to review our hotel, outlets and new obstructed view. As some of the rooms in our Napili tower overlook the timeshare being built next door, we've offered a discounted rate and 2 for 1 breakfast rate. Of course inside the room, all of the same amenities are still offered and easily accessible! I'd like to hear more feedback about this view and how you think we could make it better, along with our breakfast buffet. We are definitely open to suggestions and feedback! I can be reached at kressa.olguin@hyatt.com if you would like to take the time.
Warmest Aloha,
