“Early morning at Molokini, wow!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

We weren’t sure exactly what to expect so I hope I can provide some information.

You get complimentary valet parking at Makena Golf Resort; the employees there know when you arrive what you are there for and were very helpful directing you were to go. You head down past the pool area to the beach where the Kai folks get you started on forms and collect your footwear, it is a barefoot boat.

To board the boat you will walk in to the water to the steps, it wasn’t up to our knees but they advise you to hold your dry gear overhead. Once aboard they have coffee and muffins to enjoy as they set out. The morning we went we were able to watch the full moon set and the sun rise, it was spectacular!

They have floatation belts as well as boogie boards and prescription masks, I chose all three. We were the only group at the crater and after receiving instructions as well as a personal fitting check we stepped down the stair/ladder into the water. It was amazing, like looking into a salt water tank, the water was perfect. The employees were in the water for assistance allowing me to actually stop worrying about my kids and enjoy the snorkeling. I believe there was between 30-40 of us on the tour so no crowding.

After time at the crater (honestly it was enough) we set out to Turtle Town and stopped to watch the whales along the way. The turtles and whales were what you are longing to see in Maui.

The tour was well organized, fun and informational. Stop into their shop for your free gift when you are done. If you have any questions PM me, I would highly recommend Kai Kanani.

“Whale Watching”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

We had a really great experience on the Kai Kanani Whale Watching tour. The boat was really nice and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful the whole time. We saw a bunch of whales up close and personal. One of the coolest experiences of my life! A great way to spend the afternoon.

“Captain Kerry & Crew are the best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

Cindy & I thoroughly enjoyed the January 15, 2013 morning/early afternoon snorkeling trip tp Molokini crater and to a sea turtle-rich area. Captain Kerry's crew, Fred, Nina, Jen and another young woman, were exceptional. Clearly, their goal was to make our snorkeling trip extraordinary and they came through with flying colors. Nina was very insightful explaining many varities of sea life while we were in the water. Fred provided humorous insights into whale life while we were on the boat witnessing many whales breach the water. The entire crew enriched our experience for the day and we'd highly recommend them to anyone who deisres a terrific snorkeling adventure. Spend a few hours with Captain Kerry & Crew - you'll be glad you did!

“Amazing snorkelling at Molokini Crater”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 14, 2013

I really enjoyed the snorkelling at Molokini Crater. The visibility here is fantastic, and we had lots of time to snorkel both here and at Turtle Town. The crew of Kai Kanani helped us have a lot of fun, pointed out things of interest, and did everything to make sure we had a safe and very enjoyable trip. We also saw lots of whales just sailing out to the snorkelling locations. Would do again.

“Great experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2013

My husband and I did the Molokini snorkeling trip. It was great and the crew is very friendly and helpful. We snorkeled in the crater and off the back of the crater as well as turtle town. We saw a few whales while we were but did not have an opportunity to see them up close. The only reason I did not give them all five stars is because the morning of our trip, they were having some mechanical issues on the boat and the trip left an hour late. This wasn't such a big deal as they offered refunds or to reschedule with people who had plans in the afternoon (and it was nice to have a smaller group on the boat!) but even though we left an hour late (around 10 instead of 9) and they assured us we would make up for that hour, we came back about 25 minutes early (around 1:30). It would have been nice to go around looking for some whales or something during that time instead of returning early.
