Kai Kanani Sailing Charters is hands down the best snorkeling trip I have enjoyed anywhere in the world. The boat is spacious and the crew are personable and always willing to help out in any way. You never know for sure what you will or will not see on any snorkeling trip and this one was a winner. In addition to seeing all the fish you remember from "Finding Nemo" we also had the pleasure of seeing dolphins swimming inches from the boat and snorkeled near a dozen sea-turtles (keeping a respectful distance). Our good times are thanks to the helpful staff who made sure the trip was enjoyable from beginning to end.
+ Sights. Molokini offers a beautiful coral reef and "turtle town" features small caves formed of lava rock. Both areas were fun to snorkel. Tons of tropical fish, coral, and yes, sea turtles. We thought we would be lucky to see one or two and we ended up seeing close to a dozen sea turtles. You can get within about 12 feet of the majestic creatures and they will hang out for a bit before moving along. Just watching their grace underwater is inspiring. If you have the opportunity to get in the water with the turtles as we did, be sure to do so. Don't miss it!
+ Amazing staff. They chauffeured us, made sure we had the proper gear, helped us in and out of the water, guided us to the best viewing locations, served us drinks and food, and even made sure our shoes were waiting for us dry and ready to wear once back at shore. The staff MAKES Kai Kanani the only boat you should consider.
+ Good food and drink. Many snorkeling trips offer a "party boat" atmosphere with some spiked punch and snacks. Kai Kanani does so much better. A selection of continental breakfast treats including coffee, tea, and hot cocoa await you at the beginning of your adventure. After the two snorkeling stops you are treated to a selection of deli style selections allowing you to build your own sandwich, chips, and snacks. Multiple beers on tap along with tropical drinks and soda. After lunch the crew even offered cookies and more coffee/tea to anyone interested. The food is not fancy but is good quality and well thought out for people on a boat for 3-4 hours. Much better than other snorkeling cruises I have been on elsewhere.
I normally include three negatives in my reviews to balance the three positives. In this instance I have nothing negative to say. The Kai Kanani experience was perfect from start to finish.
