“Comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

We stayed in unit #130 for a week this January 2013. Three couples fit nicely in this three bedroom, three bathroom condo. The community BBQ's are a great concept, however their popularity results in low and empty tanks by evening. You may be cooking meat in your condo oven. Our unit had a beautiful ocean view. You will be awakened every morning by super-loud screeching birds outside, so bring earplugs or keep fan or A/C on high setting. Free wifi is handy to have. Our condo was clean and well-stocked with glass wear, plates, cookware, etc. it even had a small washer and dryer to use! It was a short walking distance to everything we needed: beaches, restaurants, etc. we rented two cars so that we could explore further. The pool near the office was clean and refreshing, and it was a 1 minute walk from there to a hill on the property to watch the sunsets.

Room Tip: Try to get one that faces the ocean: it's worth the view!

We stayed as part of a group of 3 couples and were delighted to find this gem. With 6 people to consider with everyone having their own requirements and preferences it was a challenge to find a 3 bedroom condo - each with a queen or king bed - with a view of the ocean and a nice pool, but the Aston Maui Hill fulfilled all of our requirements and more. We appreciated having a washer and dryer in the unit, too. The staff were friendly and helpful and promptly responded to all of our requests. We had an issue with a bedroom door that wasn't shutting and it was repaired right away.

Room Tip: Not all units have an ocean view, so if that is important to you, be sure to ask for it.

We checked in early on Thursday afternoon. Room 7105 was ready for us.

Pool is a decent size with 6' depth in the middle.

Nice green garden park like setting and unobstructed ocean views.

No shortage of older guests but that keeps the noise down.

If you can, you should check out their weekly pool parties. Free cocktails and BBQ steak.

Donya was great for booking our excursions. Very helpful and friendly.

Not too many restaurants nearby. You will need to drive.

I would stay here again.

We have a time share here and have been coming for 25 years and love it! Quiet , beautifully landscaped property. Our family loves it and has been coming from babyhood through college. Many great memories. Love the area. You can walk to beach and the condos have everything you need. Great staff including Mr. Costa ( manager) and Donya (activities ).

Room Tip: love the 3 bedroom units if you need the space. we have a big family

We visited Maui over Thanksgiving last year, and stayed at the Aston Maui Hill for the first time. We have two small boys, so wanted to stay someplace near a beach but not necessarily on the beach. This place did that beautifully. Our two-bedroom unit was clean, comfortable and had several amenities that the owners provided for guests such as beach toys, snorkel gear, etc. The pool is clean, and just the right size. Our kids loved the tennis courts, shuffle board and mini golf course. The beach is just a short walk away across the main road. One of the things we loved best about this property was how quiet it was. The landscaping is gorgeous, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. This property is on the border of Kihei/Wailea, and I highly recommend it. My husband did a jog every day on the paved sidewalks that run all from this property into Wailea past the big hotels, shopping mall, etc. Restaurants, shops, etc are just a quick car ride away. Our unit had a partial ocean view, and we just loved it. If you have small children, this is a great property to stay at. We definitely will be back!

Great location near good beaches and views of the ocean. Plenty of room in the 3 bedroom units with nice lanai. Cool breezes keep the unit cool without air conditioning. CD player didn't work and kitchen is tight and needs some additional tools to be more useful, e.g. Whisk and electric mixer (it did have an eggbeater which I have only seen in an antique shop so that was interesting, albeit not useful). Some additional pans would be helpful. Kitchen towels seem to be in low supply. There are plenty of grills to barbeque which is really a good feature. One BIG issue is a rooster(s) which start crowing LOUDLY at 4:30AM and sometimes 1AM! The front desk was amazed but rooster(s) remained throughout our visit. We did see a lot of whales from our lanai.

Aloha and Mahalo (thank you) for taking the time to write a review of your recent stay with us at Maui Hill Resort. While we are pleased that your overall experience during your stay was positive, we would like to take this opportunity to address some of the concerns mentioned in your review.
Firstly, thank you for bringing to our attention that there were some needed kitchen items in the unit you stayed in. I only wish that I had been made aware of this during your stay so that these could have been provided for your use; however, this kitchen has now been re-stocked so future guests will be able to benefit from your suggestion. With respect to the size of the kitchen, we are working with the owners of this particular unit to have the kitchen enlarged in future renovations to ensure the best use of the space available to provide increased guest enjoyment.
Finally, we would like to advise that despite a few positive comments received about the crowing rooster providing a “country touch that reminded them of home”, we had more comments that this was a noise disturbance for guests who were trying to sleep. As we want to ensure the comfort and satisfaction of all guests at the resort, we have relocated this “offender” to a private home nearby.
We appreciate your comments and suggestions, and would love to welcome you back to Maui Hill in the future should you ever decide to return to our beautiful island. Please contact me personally if I may be of service to you.
Sincerely,
Dennis Costa, General Manager
