“Aston Maui Hill was wonderful for our family!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

We visited Maui over Thanksgiving last year, and stayed at the Aston Maui Hill for the first time. We have two small boys, so wanted to stay someplace near a beach but not necessarily on the beach. This place did that beautifully. Our two-bedroom unit was clean, comfortable and had several amenities that the owners provided for guests such as beach toys, snorkel gear, etc. The pool is clean, and just the right size. Our kids loved the tennis courts, shuffle board and mini golf course. The beach is just a short walk away across the main road. One of the things we loved best about this property was how quiet it was. The landscaping is gorgeous, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. This property is on the border of Kihei/Wailea, and I highly recommend it. My husband did a jog every day on the paved sidewalks that run all from this property into Wailea past the big hotels, shopping mall, etc. Restaurants, shops, etc are just a quick car ride away. Our unit had a partial ocean view, and we just loved it. If you have small children, this is a great property to stay at. We definitely will be back!

Great location near good beaches and views of the ocean. Plenty of room in the 3 bedroom units with nice lanai. Cool breezes keep the unit cool without air conditioning. CD player didn't work and kitchen is tight and needs some additional tools to be more useful, e.g. Whisk and electric mixer (it did have an eggbeater which I have only seen in an antique shop so that was interesting, albeit not useful). Some additional pans would be helpful. Kitchen towels seem to be in low supply. There are plenty of grills to barbeque which is really a good feature. One BIG issue is a rooster(s) which start crowing LOUDLY at 4:30AM and sometimes 1AM! The front desk was amazed but rooster(s) remained throughout our visit. We did see a lot of whales from our lanai.

Aloha and Mahalo (thank you) for taking the time to write a review of your recent stay with us at Maui Hill Resort. While we are pleased that your overall experience during your stay was positive, we would like to take this opportunity to address some of the concerns mentioned in your review.
Firstly, thank you for bringing to our attention that there were some needed kitchen items in the unit you stayed in. I only wish that I had been made aware of this during your stay so that these could have been provided for your use; however, this kitchen has now been re-stocked so future guests will be able to benefit from your suggestion. With respect to the size of the kitchen, we are working with the owners of this particular unit to have the kitchen enlarged in future renovations to ensure the best use of the space available to provide increased guest enjoyment.
Finally, we would like to advise that despite a few positive comments received about the crowing rooster providing a “country touch that reminded them of home”, we had more comments that this was a noise disturbance for guests who were trying to sleep. As we want to ensure the comfort and satisfaction of all guests at the resort, we have relocated this “offender” to a private home nearby.
We appreciate your comments and suggestions, and would love to welcome you back to Maui Hill in the future should you ever decide to return to our beautiful island. Please contact me personally if I may be of service to you.
Sincerely,
Dennis Costa, General Manager

We have a timeshare here (102) and so look forward to our annual trip. The large 2-bedroom condo was in tip top shape as always, with plenty of beach towels, and all the conveniences for a wonderful stay. The grounds are impeccable, staff friendly and it's just a short walk or drive to two superb beaches. Our favourite is Keawakapu Beach where you can walk for miles and miles. Get to the parking lot early if you're driving though.
Maui Hill is such a beautifully maintained property and Dennis Costa and his staff do a fantastic job of keeping everything in excellent condition for visitors and owners alike.

Room Tip: The only drawback is that that the condo complex in front of MH has installed a pump of some kind ri...

We stayed at th Maui Hill for the New Years and was very impressed by the Aloha spirit the staff and Dennis Costa displayed. We truly felt like we were visiting family. The two bedroom condo was very spacious, clean and comfortable. I love the layout of the hotel rooms, you don't feel like you are right next to strangers. There was a lot of privacy and space. We could not have asked for more. We highly recommend Maui Hill for families and we will return soon. Cabo family

We stayed here for four nights with our extended family. My booked a three bedroom condo which was very large and included three full bathrooms, a huge living room, three balconies (one very large off the living room and a good sized kitchen area that included a stove, microwave and fridge. BBQs were available outside. We had a great view of the ocean from our near top of the hill location.

The staff were helpful and pleasant, the tennis court is newly refurbished and while we didn't use the pool it looked great. Everything was clean and tidy in and around the property.

The resort is not quite as close to the beaches as some others so you need to be prepared either to walk a few minutes or drive. The selection of beaches within a 15 minute drive was really great so this was not an issue for us.

I highly recommend the Maui Hills and look forward to a future stay.

We have visited Maui Hill previously as both timeshare owners and paying guests. This was a paying guest visit and our first Christmas in Maui. On this trip we were in a 1BR unit with a very nice view. As always the manager, Dennis Costa, and his staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We were greeted with candy, a basket of fruit and a poinsettia in our unit. Our unit was clean and well appointed. Housekeeping came in daily and managed to always come when we were out.

They held a Christmas party for staff and guests on Christmas Eve which included beef, hot dogs, chips and a variety of beverages. Santa arrived by helicopter and brought treats for all the children. It was a very enjoyable holiday visit.

While this is an older resort, the grounds are always well maintained and the units kept very clean. The staff deserves kudos for the pride they obviously take in the property. We would recommend this resort to anyone that wants to experience the true Aloha spirit.

Overall, I loved this hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I arrived about an hour early to check in and it was no problem at all. The room was HUGE- more like a townhouse than a hotel room, and the full kitchen saves big $$$ on food when you have a family to feed. Washer and dryer in the unit, as well as a dishwasher. Pool was nice, with a nice deck and even a Mai Tai party on Tuesdays. (I think the girl said it's every Tuesday...) And the grounds were just beautiful.

The one smudge on an otherwise perfect stay... was housekeeping. Our first full day there, I left $10 on the table with a note that said "Housekeeping- Thank You!" We left for the day, and when we got back the money was gone and I couldn't figure out how because it didn't seem like the housekeeper had even been there. We eventually realized that she came in, took the money, made ONE of the beds (there were 2 total), and then left!!! She didn't even replace the towels that had been left on the floor and I had to call the front desk to have some delivered. Needless to say, she didn't get a tip the next day. I was kind of hoping this would make a point and her service would improve in the hopes of getting another tip... but it didn't, and eventually I just gave up and started taking out the trash and washing the towels myself. Though I will say, everything did seem to be very well kept, so I assume they do a better job when people check out.

Still, the rest of the stay was lovely enough to warrant 4 stars. If not for the shoddy service from housekeeping, I would have given 5. I highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: As far as I know, these are all condo-style and great for families at reasonable prices. I got a goo...

Aloha and Mahalo (thank you) for taking the time to write a review about your recent stay with us at Maui Hill Resort. While we are pleased that your overall experience during your visit was positive, we appreciate you bringing your concerns about the housekeeping service you received to our attention so that it may be addressed. We will most certainly review your comments with our Housekeeping Managers to ensure that this oversight does not occur in the future. There is no excuse for our regular scheduled housekeeping service not being provided to all guests’ complete satisfaction on a daily basis while they staying with us, and we sincerely apologize for this occurring during your visit. Rest assured that had this been brought to my attention while you were here, it would have been addressed immediately. We appreciate you choosing our resort for your vacation, and if you should ever decide to return to Maui in the future, I ask that you please contact me personally so that I may ensure that we meet your expectations in all areas, including housekeeping.
