“Maui Hospitality at it's finest - Make this part of your Hawaii Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

I do not usually go back to websites and "rate" or comment on where I have been but with the Maui Sunseeker I had too. We stayed here 10 nights from 7/6/12 to 7/16/12 and our flight was not leaving until 9:15pm on 7/16/12. We were planning on checking out and just driving around until flight time but the staff at the Sunseeker would not have that - they extended our checkout time until we were ready to leave on the 16th and offered us extended use of their facilities. This was just the final gesture of hospitality and friendship that they had to offer. From the MINUTE we checked in Michael, Robin and Chuck were extremely glad to assist us and have us there. It really seemed like we were old friends for years instead of "customers" they just met and were providing services for. Their facilities are top notch - tropical, and very safe feeling. The BBQ grills allowed us to cook up steaks and sit at the Gazebo and enjoy the sights and sounds of Maui. The sundeck with jacuzzi and Marty the Massues magic hands was a fantastic place to hang out. The pool - salt water not chlorine - heated - and clothing optional ( :-) ) was a great place to hang out and meet new friends. There is plenty to do and see in Kihei (tourist things, clubs, restaurants and beaches). Robin was exceptional in helping me book activities - she knows her stuff and her recommendations were spot on. I would HIGHLY recommend the 5 line Zip Line, the Annabelle and Warran Magic Show, and Little Beach. She also told us about "The Local Boys" Hawaiian Shaved Ice place - OMG heaven. I cannot say enough about the facilities, our room, the staff and the atmosphere of the whole place. I won't say IF we come back to Maui we will stay at the Sunseeker I will say WHEN we go back to Maui we WILL stay at the Sunseeker - that will be the dermining factor (the room availability) for our trip. I could not imagine a trip to Maui without staying with our friends/family at the Maui Sunseeker - I miss them all a bunch. Take it from me - Stay at the Maui Sunseeker and you will be writing a review just like this one and will have found a new extended family with Michael, Joe, Robin and Chuck. Miss you guys a lot - Aloha and Mahalo.

Room Tip: Ask Chuck if the "Sunset Suite" is finished and if it is - get it - we got to see a previe...

The rooms were very nice and location is excellent being right across the street from the beach.
There is new recent ownership that are adding improvements to the property. Friendly primarily gay clientele.

Room Tip: Some of the rooms are in buildings in the back. CHeck which rooms have an ocean view.

I stayed here from June 30 until July 7 and enjoyed every minute. The grounds are immaculately maintained and the staff is extremely friendly. They really do sweat the details on the property too. The roof deck with the hot tub, tables and lounge chairs is perfect for watching the sunset and stars. It's even neat to watch the planes fly overhead as they land from the mainland.

The staff is also extremely knowledgeable about activities on the island and have connections with guides and tours, as well as information if you just want to take your own on a road trip.

Finally, the area where the hotel is located is convenient from the airport, the shops and restaurants of Kihei and also the beaches on the southern part of the island (Makena and Wailea).

I plan on staying here again, no doubt.

We stayed six nights and thoroughly enjoyed the accomodations. We selected an upstairs Junior Suite with its kitchenette to save on some trip costs by preparing a few meals in our room. But even the Standard rooms have a small fridge, cofeemaker, and microwave. The room was casual but comfortable in its furnishings, and the big shower was a treat. The rooftop deck was a great spot for morning coffee, or to meet other guests in the evening and share updates on sights to see. Plenty of offstreet parking. There's also a handy coin-op washer & dryer on site.

The staff were friendly and responsive - quick to offer tips on places to visit or to help arrange for excursions or dinner reservations. We appreciated that beach gear (mats, chairs, water coolers and the like) was available for use.

As a base for exploring Maui, we thought the location worked great. It's not as congested as Kahului, and other towns and attractions are within an easy drive. Even the amazing Road to Hana is quite doable if you get an early start. Kihei tended to remain sunny and breezy, even when other parts of the island had rain showers. And we liked that Kihei had more of a local community feel than the newer resort areas of Wailea or Kaanapali.

This was our first visit to Maui, and we'd definitely stay at the Sunseeker again!

We stayed at Maui Sunseeker for one week with 2 other couples and had a wonderful, relaxing time! Each of us stayed in a one bedroom suite by the pool and it felt like we were in our own little tropical oasis. The pool and landscaping was so beautiful. We used the BBQ grill and had dinner outdoors...what a treat! We loved the nightly sunset gatherings and the hot tub relaxed us after the long flight from New Mexico. Robin, Joe, Michael, and Chuck were awesome and they are the folks that made our stay at the resort extra special. It felt like we were part of their family! Going for morning walks on the ocean right accross the street was special. Having the beach chairs and coolers at our fingertips was very nice. The beds were extra comfortable. There is no better vacation than a place were you can be yourself. We made some new friends that we hope to keep for life. We'll have happy memories of the special time we had in Maui. We hope to return soon.

I've stayed here a couple of times with my partner, and I just love it! Very friendly staff and great roof top view with hot tub! I especially like that they generally collect the beach 'stuff' that previous guest leave behind and there's lots to choose from and borrow for your fun times at the beach! This is a true cash saver! I always recommend this place to everyone! I love the location and it's not touristy! The rooms are not luxurious but they serve their purpose and then some! I have only stayed in jr. Suites on the 2nd level...i like the small balconies that allow me glimpses of the ocean, which u cannot see on the 1st level. I can really relax here and enjoy a deserving vacation! Thx u Maui Sunseeker!

We just returned from a 3 night stay at Sunseeker. It was a great stay, and definitely would return back. The staff was highly professional, yet warm and very friendly. We were greeted by fabulous Robin, who checked us in quickly, escorted us to our room, and provided with a plenty of valuable information about our stay and things to do on Maui. She suggested beaches to go and several activities to do. Room was wonderful, spacious, clean with great balcony overlooking lanai and ocean across the street. King size bed was very comfortable. Place has also jacuzzi, sunroof, and pool. We didn't use any as we were quite busy touring around, but it surely looked great. Resort also includes free parking. One complaint was that our room wasn't made after 2nd night and there was no keeper on premisses on Sunday evening after we returned from snorkeling at Kapalua beach. Not sure why, but mistakes happen, so not a big deal. If we get a chance to go to Maui again we will book Sunseeker again.
