“Each time gets better!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2012 via mobile

I've stayed here a couple of times with my partner, and I just love it! Very friendly staff and great roof top view with hot tub! I especially like that they generally collect the beach 'stuff' that previous guest leave behind and there's lots to choose from and borrow for your fun times at the beach! This is a true cash saver! I always recommend this place to everyone! I love the location and it's not touristy! The rooms are not luxurious but they serve their purpose and then some! I have only stayed in jr. Suites on the 2nd level...i like the small balconies that allow me glimpses of the ocean, which u cannot see on the 1st level. I can really relax here and enjoy a deserving vacation! Thx u Maui Sunseeker!

We just returned from a 3 night stay at Sunseeker. It was a great stay, and definitely would return back. The staff was highly professional, yet warm and very friendly. We were greeted by fabulous Robin, who checked us in quickly, escorted us to our room, and provided with a plenty of valuable information about our stay and things to do on Maui. She suggested beaches to go and several activities to do. Room was wonderful, spacious, clean with great balcony overlooking lanai and ocean across the street. King size bed was very comfortable. Place has also jacuzzi, sunroof, and pool. We didn't use any as we were quite busy touring around, but it surely looked great. Resort also includes free parking. One complaint was that our room wasn't made after 2nd night and there was no keeper on premisses on Sunday evening after we returned from snorkeling at Kapalua beach. Not sure why, but mistakes happen, so not a big deal. If we get a chance to go to Maui again we will book Sunseeker again.

Stayed at the resort in one of the poolside suites for 3 nights in March. First off, great directions on their site to help you find the place, first class. The greeting and tour of the resort were also very good. The suite was great - clean, spacious and free wifi in the room. The resort is right across the road from a beautiful beach, with amazing sunsets. All in all a great resort at a very reasonable price.

My partner and I came to Maui with his parents and decided to stay at a resort that was gay oriented. We had such an amazing experience. The welcome was great and the property was gorgeous. It's an 18+ only property and this made it quiet and relaxing. Just a few feet away from the beach. This will be a Home away from home when we come to Maui in the future.

This low-key, friendly hotel is a great base for any trip to Maui. Centrally located in Kihei, it is right across from a beautiful walking beach (swimming is also possible, but there are better beaches for that) and close (but not too close) to restaurants, grocery stores, shops, as well as the higher-end resort areas like Lahaina and Wailea. We loved our room with an excellent ocean view, very comfy bed and kitchenette. The hotel has a selection of snorkel gear and other beach equipment, and the vibe is very welcoming and low-key. We didn't see (or hear) much from our fellow guests, which was nice in the sense that there's privacy and a respectful atmosphere. At the same time, there are several common areas for socializing, one located on the roof with a great sunset view. The Sunseeker also does a good job connecting guests to LGBT activities on Maui. They gave us free tickets to an awesome annual whale-watching trip attended by both locals and guests.

In a final note, make sure you use the foot baths located around the property to wash off your feet thoroughly before returning to your room. In a cost-saving or environmental measure (the only reasons I can think of), they resist changing your sheets no matter how sandy they get.

One week on Maui in mid-February 2012: Stayed at the Sunseeker in a room next to the pool. Great care was taken by the staff to be highly professional and yet warm and friendly. The service was top-notch, treated well all week! Extra coffee, plenty of towels, suberb cleaning service and was delighted to find beach chairs, mats, umbrellas, toys for the water and just about anything else that made a week by the ocean a relaxing and memorable experience. Will go back for sure (just not ready for that long flight anytime soon!).

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the main road, it's a busy one!

This review is long overdue. Stayed in the luxury suit last August n have never had a more relaxing vacation in my life. Tropical flowers sprawled over the balacony a hot tub overlooking the ocean champagne upon arrival. I hate cheesy resorts n was worried that's all Maui had to offer aside from chain hotels but the subseeker is it's own world. My partner n i cooked most f our meals in our kitchen. Made snacks for the beach. The staff was super friendly n gave us tips on all the must see spot n hidden gems. After a couple of days we went to the roof top deck n chatted it up with other guests. All were regulars who has been coming back for years. I hope to do the same.
