We booked the trip for two snorkelers and two divers.
The boat used is quite small, but adequate, and has the added advantage of ensuring you'll not have a cattle boat experience.
Molokini was incredible with some of the best visibility I've seen. Variety and quantity of creatures was also hard to beat. One disappointment (not crew's fault!) was the lack of any of the larger animals.
Turtle town was the next stop - the whole site was disappointing, much lower visibility than the prior dive... and no turtles! Finally saw a couple in the last few minutes of the dive. To the DM's credit he tried to gently steer the choice away from this spot, but we all insisted on turtles.
Overall great service, maybe a bit rough around the edges for some of the more socially sensitive divers, but much better than some of the others I've seen.
So, why room for improvement?
First dive briefing had great detail on the animals we might see and signals we might use. However there was no mention of the fact that we'd be spending time at 94' - a fairly deep dive considering that all the divers on board were pretty inexperienced. (I think we were most experienced with 30 dives). Also, during the dive I had to tell the DM, several times that my pressure is getting pretty low. He kept acknowledging, and continuing the dive (making me a bit nervous).. and I came up with 524 psi. Maximized dive time, but would have been nice to know that this would be the plan.
The other issue was snorkelers. We were told that they'd be fine on the trip. They would have been much better on a dedicated snorkel trip which brings snorkelers in closer to shallow reef. They were put in above the divers, too deep to see much.. and told to stay out of the strong current nearby. Both strong swimmers, they were concerned when they strayed into the current (because that's where the fish were). The second site was also disappointing for them, but at least more shallow.
Overall, I would definitely dive with this crew again. I would not complain of having to keep track of my own air - that's why you're certified. If you want a babysitter, dive with someone else. They set up, broke down and washed all the gear - a much appreciated level of service. I would not have snorkelers with this or any other dive boat at Molokini. The crew should provide a bit more detail on the briefing.. and I'd give them a 5!
