My husband and I sailed with Maui Classic Charters on the Four Winds II on a morning trip to Molokini. We had a great time on the boat on the way out. The captain gave a great narration of the island and provided us with some fun facts. The crew came around with water refills and snorkel gear. We arrived to Molokini after about an hour sail and we were free to jump right in. I may have hyped up Molokini to be this great magical place based on reviews I have read because I was a little disappointed. The fish were less than plentiful. I know it’s all based on the day and the sail company had nothing to do with this. We had two hours to snorkel and eat lunch before heading back. About 45 min into the snorkeling I got really seasick due to the rough water. I swam back to the boat and was just miserable the rest of the time. Again, this had nothing to do with the sail company and I don’t blame them.  Needless to say, we didn’t have the best time because of the sea sickness but we really enjoyed the sailing part. As long as the boat was moving, we were OK. I never ate lunch because I didn’t think I could stomach it, but my husband did and said it was OK. He said he thinks it was a standard Costco hamburger. On the ride back we stopped at a location in the ocean where a lot of turtles happen to swim. We had some good sightings, but we weren’t in the water with them (only viewing from boat). In summary, we enjoyed the sail and the crew but happened to catch a bad day of fish and a case of sea sickness. After snorkeling the next day at Black Rock and seeing a ton of fish and a few turtles up close we decided that the snorkel trip to Molokini could have been skipped. If you do decide to go to Molokini, Four Winds II had a nice boat and a great crew and we would recommend this company.

This trip is a must. We have taken both the Four Winds and the Maui Magic and seek them out each time we visit Maui. The staff is wonderfully attentive, the snorkeling is great, lots of good food and, in the case of Maui Magic, multiple stops. All in all, lots of fun and an excellent value. We have recommended these trips to many of our friends, all of whom have thanked us. We'll be back. Again.

My husband had another amazing time on the Four Winds again this year. We have gone out on the boat the past few years and every year we have such a fabulous experience I always plan on writing and thanking everyone for the great experience. Well this time I am actually doing that.
As seasoned, and cynical travelers we find that the Four Winds is just what we are looking for. The atmosphere is relaxed. The first experience we have is talking with Chip who is always there greeting the passengers as they board. We feel like he is our friend based on the chance encounters.
Once on board the boat, it seems like I have stepped onto my private yatch with a crew waiting on my every whim and desire. I am thirsty, they have a beverage. I am hungry, they have food, (the best burger EVER!!!) I want to mindlessly ramble on to the crew about what I did last night, they are actually interested. All of this and the best views, and snorkeling experience too. We have never been disapppointed with your "dive guides," the equipment, and the time alotted in the water. The snuba should also be given a whirl at some point. Best of all we take away pictures of our underwater experience.
When we took our first tour on the Four Winds we were concerned that the trip would be too long and we would be bored. Not so. From the first trip, until our most recent, we never want it to end. It is always the highlight of our visits. Not to be missed! The entire crew, and company behind the crew, is to be commended on a quality experience, year after year, after year, after...

We had a fantastic time on our boat trip.
The staff was awesome and so helpful in telling us what type of fish, whales, dolphins we were looking at. The customer service level was incredibly high. Never once did I feel like their job was to simply deliver us by boat to a certain place. They told us about their families and background, asked about our families. . . etc. They were much more relaxed and attentive than other similar type of trips my family's done.
Snorkeling, food, service and definitely the turtles were the highlight of our trip!!
