“A "civilized" breakfast, in pleasant surroundings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2012

In late March, we enjoyed 7 consecutive breakfasts here, as they were included with the price of our room (gratuity INCLUDED - as was the Resort Fee), so was a great deal. We had previously stayed in this hotel back in 2002, and while not much has changed in the Cafe since then, there was no reason to change it. The koi pond, at your side at some tables, and adjoining beautifully landscaped courtyards, added to the experience. The only thing missing was an ocean view.
The buffet had all the usual choices, and there was a good variety. The omelette station was popular, for good reason. Servers were, for the most part, very gracious, friendly and helpful (1 fellow seemed to be wishing he was somewhere else, but the rest were great).
While most guests took the buffet, off the menu ordering was available. Fussy eaters may not be fans of buffets, but it was fast, good, and we ate enough that we never had to take time to eat lunch later!
Usually, we would not eat at the same place 7 days in a row, but "the price was right", the surroundings were very pleasant, and we were not disappointed. We plan to return!

“Sunday Brunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2011 via mobile

We usually go here for a Sunday brunch. The price is high but the food is usually good. You can count on good service every time. The prime rib was not very tender this trip but everything else was great.

Probably not a good choice for those on a budget.

“Good when hot...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2006

$23 per person seems stiff to me for breakfast but we decided to try it. The assortment of food was delicious....except the first time I went up all the food was cold...the eggs, the waffles and the french toast! I was determined to not pay $23 for cold food, so I immediately told our waitress and she acted shocked and took charge instantly. Less than 2 minutes later they restocked the buffet with hot eggs, waffles and french toast. And she brought me a plate of hot fresh eggs to our table. Definitely fixed the problem. Once I had hot food, the $23 was worth it.

“Amazing Breakfast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2004

Amazing breakfast, we stayed at the Maui Prince 4 nights and ate at the Cafe Kiowai every morning! They have an excellent breakfast buffet every day of the week, again good clean fresh food! Thge average price for the buffett was about $25 per person but well worth it, who goes to Maui to worry about the price of a meal! You're on vacation, live it up!
