“Feels like home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

I'm so glad, we listened to all this other reviews on tripadvisor and booked the woody room - from the very first email til we said goodbye: Don and Patti made us feel so welcome. They even invited us and all other guests to their christmas dinner with friends and family. A great opportunity to get to know each other.
The rooms are small, but clean, you'll find everything you need: night lamp, tissues, refrigerator, coat hanger, extra blankets ...
And Patti and Don will offer you everything else you need: great advices where to go, boogie boards, snorkel equipment, umbrella etc. They borrowed me a maui travel guide, which I used for five days ... it's called "maui revealed" i can really recommend it.
Breakfast ( snacks, fruits, coffee, buns, Pattis delicious baking goods ... chocolate brownie with cheesecake topping was our favorite) is served all day long -> so useful, if you start your daily very early or late ... You can use the kitchen, whenever you want and i always felt welcome -> that's the place, where you meet the other guests ... And sometimes patti makes dinner for all of her guests ...
We shared a bathroom with one other room. I was a little bit worried about that, but it turns out, that it's not a problem - the bathroom is right in front of your room.
You can easily walk to the beach -> but if you have a car, there are better beaches a few minutes drive south.
You can also walk to a really big supermarket ( try poke at the fish corner ), and a lot of restaurants ( try three's, very good sushi ).
Just one thing: If you want a really romantic hideaway with a lot of privacy and a pool -> invest in a condo ... If you want a place, where you find everything you need ( and more), get to know lovely people from all over the world, want to taste one of the best banana breads - and all of it for an unbeatable price: Visit Anapa place inn!

I had a wonderful week there recently and would highly recommend this vacation rental option! All the other reviews are accurate. Would also like to add that it's in a fun location near Kalama Park, close to a great supermarket and some pretty good night life with fun bars and restaurants very close. There's even a $2 beer happy hour at Oceans from 3 to 6pm daily. Its a very nice house. Appreciated using a nice kitchen as I made great omelets each morning and was thrilled to see olive oil to use and enjoy. Patti and Don run a real nice business. Mahalo

Room Tip: Did much without any rental car, using the Maui Bus!

I found this place on trip advisor. Great little B&B! Very short walking distance from central Kihei. My husband and I stayed in the Master Suite, which has its own private bathroom & private entrance right to the drive way.
Breakfast is more of a continental style with loads of snacks and its available anytime of the day; usually accompanied with one of Patti's delicious baked goods.

Patti is a gracious host! Super informative! We played everything by ear, planned out our few days on Maui by skimming through Patti's info on Maui books and asking for her advice. She sent us on some of the most amazing drives and spectacular snorkeling spots.

We really did make ourselves right at home. If you're looking for a cozy, clean spot, where you truly get great value, this is it!

Room Tip: Master Suite has its own ensuite washroom & entrance

How fortunate we were to find this place and it's wonderful owners Patti and Don! A great central location in Kihei ... and on the island itself as well. We have spent 8 nights here, staying in the Front room.

Once you step into their house you immediately feel like at home. A very cozy, clean and comfortable house with a nice layout. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed. The bathroom was in the hallway (4 steps from our room) shared with other guests of one other room only. There is an extra bathroom in the house in case this one would get busy which it never did. It felt like having our own bathroom too. The room has a little lanai with it's own entrance.

The kitchen is wonderful, equipped with anything you may need and with an "all day breakfast" spread out on the table (fresh fruit, chips, cookies and Patti's home made goodies). Patti is an amazing baker and her baked banana bread, apple bread, upside down pineapple cake, maple syrup bars, peanut butter bars and simply anything that comes out from her oven was delicious. We indeed enjoyed all of hese goodies greatly!

Patti and Don are wonderful hosts always ready to help with anything we might have needed. They were very respectful and not intruding at all....giving all their guests as much of space, peacefulness and help as they needed. I would highly recommend everybody to take their time and listen to their wonderful life story and many other stories they are happy to share.

We couldn't have imagined a better place to stay and we will always return to stay with them if we happen to find ourselves on Maui again. They are one of our favorite memories of Maui.

If you ever go to Kihei, check this place, because it is the most wonderful accomodation in the island. at a super reasonable price. Me and my partner stayed at the very cozy front room for a week and the experience was extraordinary. The place is super clean, quiet, safe and very well located in central Kihei, within walking distance to the beach, restaurants and the shopping area, but out of the traffic and the main road. Patti and Don are the most kind and hospitable people you may think of. Patti bakes delicious cakes for the guests and both of them provide excellent advice, let their guest use their island guide books, their kitchen, their beach boards and always with a big smile and the true pleasure of helping. Marvelous place!!!

We too feel so lucky to have found The Amapa place inn. Thank you to everyone whom posted on here, and to trip Advisor to recommending this awesome place. We spent 8 days with Patty and Don, Off the beaten path in a nice little neighborhood, just a few blocks off the main road in Kehei . Patty is not only an awesome hostess and cook she really cares about her guests. We didn’t go hungry here, Patty always has snacks, treats, yogurt and yum-O the deserts are wonderful, out on the counter for everyone to enjoy! It wasn't long before we were feeling like family she offerd us Taco’s on our first night. Saturday nights they cook dinner for all the guests. Dons Chili has to be mentioned too YUM-OThey thinks about the small things like razor’s, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and Q-tips in the bathroom. The beds were comfortable and the linen’s were clean and crisp. We so appreciated the use of some camping equipment so we could stay the night in Hana, there just isn’t enough time in the day to see all the sights up there We soooo recommend this place, really I can not recommend it enough, and we will let all of our friends and family know about this very cool and affordable B&B. !! We are looking forward to many years to come at this B&B. There is a reason they have such high ratings on trip advisor, try it out folks. You will be blessed with good company, great food and snacks, people whom really know Maui and is willing to let you know the best spots to visit, dine and check out. Got a question just ask and you will get some awesome advice. So you can get the most out of your vacation too. Thank you so much for everything Patty and Don. You really do have a little piece of heaven on Maui. Wishing you always the best. Joy and Pat, Tacoma Wa.

Room Tip: All the rooms here are clean and comfortable. ENJOY!
