We spend a good deal of time on Maui, and had never heard of this restaurant until we saw it featured on the cover of "Kihei to Ma'alaea Dining-Art-Shopping." Additionally, they had a very exotic, full page add inside the publication. So, off we went. Totally disappointing. Very ordinary golf course setting, very plain furnishings and the "spectacular views" referred to in their add were non existent. We were only there for lunch, so can't comment on their dinner menu. The lunch menu was very ordinary American food, plus some pizzas. Definitely would not recommend this place, and won't be going back.

First I would like to thank you for trying Kono's out. I regret that the experience was not what you were expecting and humbly apologize. Due to the nature of our location and situation which is at a golf course, yes the food during the day is set up more according the "Country Club" style of American Flair.

The actual claims to fame that we have in the magazines are indeed that of the dinner and sunset. Our dinners are what make Kono's what it is along with the sunset. If you check our other reviews you will see that this is true. If you ever feel that you would like to give us a shot at dinner, you are always welcome, and I firmly believe that "false advertising" is not part of what we are here at Kono's.
