We usually stay at resort hotels but decided to stay at the MK b/c the rest of our family was staying there. Our unit L107, a 1 bed/2 bath lower level unit with no ocean view, was clean, comfortable, and well equipped, from hair dryers to beach towels. Most importantly, there were a/c units and ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room. Décor was Hawaiian-Asian (think wicker) but not overdone.
Our parents had a much nicer condo, J214, a 2 bed (loft)/2 bath upper unit with a fantastic view of the ocean. It had more modern furnishings and a flat screen TV.
I would recommend staying at a condo if you prefer a home away from home experience. I don't like doing ANY chores when I'm on vacation, even something as minor as dumping garbage or starting a laundry load before vacating ("required" by the management company). I heard you can hire a housekeeping company but I prefer these services to be included in my accommodations.
That said, if you want to stay in a condo, I highly recommend this complex and suggest reading the Tripadvisor reviews so you know which units to rent. As previous reviewers have mentioned, the unit conditions vary.
