We absolutely loved our stay at Jon & Gin's condo (I-119). The condo was extremely beautiful and well kept... exceeded our expectations. The lanai had the most beautiful view! I The location was awesome as it is walking distance to the beautiful beaches. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. It was a perfect place for us to celebrate our honeymoon.

We usually stay at resort hotels but decided to stay at the MK b/c the rest of our family was staying there. Our unit L107, a 1 bed/2 bath lower level unit with no ocean view, was clean, comfortable, and well equipped, from hair dryers to beach towels. Most importantly, there were a/c units and ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room. Décor was Hawaiian-Asian (think wicker) but not overdone.

Our parents had a much nicer condo, J214, a 2 bed (loft)/2 bath upper unit with a fantastic view of the ocean. It had more modern furnishings and a flat screen TV.

I would recommend staying at a condo if you prefer a home away from home experience. I don't like doing ANY chores when I'm on vacation, even something as minor as dumping garbage or starting a laundry load before vacating ("required" by the management company). I heard you can hire a housekeeping company but I prefer these services to be included in my accommodations.

That said, if you want to stay in a condo, I highly recommend this complex and suggest reading the Tripadvisor reviews so you know which units to rent. As previous reviewers have mentioned, the unit conditions vary.

We spent our 10 day honeymoon in unit I119 and booked directly through the owner. We stayed in a 1 bedroom on the lower level with an ocean view. We loved everything about the complex. Our condo was a great home away from home. We had everything we needed. The condo was quite, clean and well taken care of. Maui Kamaole is the most beautiful of the resort complexes in Kihei that we saw. It's only a short drive to some of the best beaches on Maui. Our favorite was Big Beach. We will definitely return and would recommend this condo.

I have stayed at Maui Kamaole on 4 different occasions. I love the location and love the architecture, the 2 bedrooms have large ceilings and kitchens. But...

The first time I stayed there, was in a one bedroom - ALL are on the bottom floor. We had a very noisy family above us the whole stay that would get up at the crack of dawn and bang around, we could here everything. The room however was very nice.

The last 3 times, we ONLY booked top floor 2 bedrooms, the extra cost is worth it. EVERY CONDO we have had have had terrible beds. In '06 we went to K-Mart by the airport and had to buy foam pads for the beds. The rest of the unit was nice.

This last trip, we had the worst unit ever - C209 - the carpet was nasty, the kitchen stock was iffy and the beds horrid!!! Springs hitting our backs, all sagging and lumpy. My only regret is not demading another condo!

This place is hit or miss, you can get a palace or get a dump, as each are individually owned. Be sure to comment -/+ in the books and with the management if the rooms are not kept up well.

Our stay in Maui Kamaole Condo #B114 exceeded expectations. Even nicer then the pictures. The furnishings are like new and the extras like the beach toys, cooler, chairs and other touches helped make it something more. The owner is very very helpful and organized. She even found us discounted airfare. 6 Stars!!!
