“YUM”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

Went twice during our one week visit. Fish tacos are where it's at, but also branched out. If you get the seafood pasta, plan to share it with someone - it's HUGE. The steak tacos were also fabulous.

“Very Good Fish Tacos”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

We intended to go to the 50's place next door but saw the several lunch plates of other diners at Coconut's Fish Cafe while walking by and changed our minds. My wife has NEVER wanted to try a fish taco but after seeing some on the plates of other diners she suggested we give it a try. Good decision. She and I both loved what we got.
TIP: be aware that an order of fish tacos contains TWO tacos. I assumed one taco per order and over ordered. The menu does not make this altogether clear. It was however, a tasty mistake.

“Love Those Fish Tacos!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

We were told by several locals that we had to check this place out. While it doesn't look like much from the strip mall parking lot, everything changed once we walked in the door. The decor was fun and "beachy" and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My wife and I both ordered their famous fish tacos while our son (not a fish eater) ordered the garlic steak sandwich.

My son sank his teeth into the steak sandwich first and said that it was tasty...so that was a good start. Then we each took our first bites of the fish tacos. They were as delicious as advertised! The fish was local and fresh and because there were so many other ingredients in the tacos, each bite offered a different mix of tastes. An order came with two fish tacos...we each devoured one, but that was enough food for us. Then a shocking thing happened. We tried to convince our son that he had to take a small bite, just to try it. He doesn't ever eat fish...as in never. Much to our surprise, he actually relented and agreed to take a bite...after which he proceeded to eat the entire taco!

We've heard that there is an ongoing debate about who makes the best fish tacos on Maui. Coconuts gets our vote!

“Some of the best fish tacos for the price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

My husband and I ordered the fish tacos. They are HUGE! The tacos were delicious too. The flavor combination was unique and I plan to go back to this place every time we are in Maui.

“Overrated”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

Not sure why this place had gotten such good reviews. Granted I only tried the fish tacos, but they were terrible. Giant yes, too many ingredients fighting with one another. A Rubio's would kill this place if it was in the same shopping center.
