Wow, what a great spot. Kihei isn't the glamour end of Maui but what it lacks in style in makes up for in location. An easy drive to Wailea and the fabulour Four Seasons (make sure you check it out). A vast array of local restaurants. Easy access to beaches along the South Coast stretch. About a 45min drive into Lamai.

What we loved about Menehune shores was;
- the grooming, the grass was so green and well kept
- views from every roon
- the roof top BBQ area - stunning views and well equipped
- condo vs hotel life - the full kitchen was well stocked and got a workout from us

We rented through Home Exchange but there are other ways of getting in touch just using google or similar.

Whilst we were two single girls, I think this place would best suit a family. It has everything you need right there.

We went to Maui for a vacation we bought at an auction and our condo was at the Menehune Shores. These condos are all indivudally owned so some MAY be nice, but ours was so bad we stayed one night and found another place to stay! It was on the bottom floor, no air conditioning, and notices to not leave windows or doors open because of the high rate of break-ins! SO, here we are in AUGUST with no AC, 2 broken fans, and can't open the windows or doors... lovely!

The unit was a mess. The screen door just fell off... the refrig and the tubs were TOTALLY rusted out (not just a drip mark, mind you... but RUST!!! The FRONT door knob was almost totally falling off... the TV didn't work in the bedroom... AND... there were fleas! It was so bad... luckily we are owners at WORLDMARK and they had a last minute cancellation so our vacation was saved... but not our $$$ we spent at the auction.

Get pictures of this place BEFORE you go... make sure its NOT on the ground floor and that there is AC. GOOD LUCK!

Just got back yesterday!! Loved it at Menehune Shores. Have stayed in many places in Kihei and would definitely return to Menehune Shores. Staff there was great and very helpful with places to go. The kids were allowed to play in the pool with no problems (unlike some other condos we have stayed at that had a pool guy that yelled at them) We stayed in unit 509 and would stay there again. It was nicely furnished and clean, with a wonderful view. We had friends in 609 and it was beautiful and a little more upscale than ours. It is referred to as the penthouse. The grounds are very well kept and access to the neighboring beach thru the gate is a plus. We never heard a tractor removing sea weed, but the beach towards Wailea is a litle rocky and does get stinky as you walk by. The walk towards the harbor is much nicer and the kids loved the beach next to the Whale Sanctuary. Menehune Shores is a great place to stay and is a wonderful value for your money. Location is also great, so close to many things! Thanks Sam in reservations for suggesting our unit!!!! We will be back again!

We stayed in unit 415 which is a 3brm/2bth oceanfront unit. The condo was very well equipped with an amazing view. Very clean. The location is great because at the North end of Kihei this means that you can avoid some major traffic hassles when going to Lahaina.

Pros: Facilities, property, and condo was excellent. There was great snorkeling in the fish pond, easy access to Kihei, Wailea, and Lahaina. The bar at Yorman's serves a killer Mai Tai and Lava Flow. The pool is well kept and pretty. The price was excellent and the value was spectacular.

Cons: There is no real sunbathing beach. Seaweed/Algae washes up on the beach each morning. The condo takes a tractor and cleans it up Mon-Friday before 7:00 am, but it is still not very good for long sunbathing and I would not wade out after 11:00 in the morning as the seaweed starts rolling in again. So if you are one who likes step out of your condo and plop on the beach, I would recommend a condo south of Cove Park.

I would definately stay here again.

I did not post pictures because the condos are individually owned. But suffice it to say that the pictures provided by the owner were spot on and if anything, the condo was much nicer than the pictures.
