“Great value - clean, huge room, friendly service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

We stayed here in early Feb. with our 5 and 7 year old kids. We booked a 1 bedroom suite as part of the stay 4 nights, get the 5th night free package. The room was larger than expected and very very clean. We were upgraded by very friendly front desk staff to the 4th floor which gave us a partial ocean view. The room had a mini fridge, microwave, counter with sink.

The pool area was small but perfect for our kids to swim in (3.5 feet deep on the edge, 5 ft in the middle). There was a small toddler pool, and two working hot tubs. There's a bar and restaurant right beside the pool that had a pretty good menu (great kids menu too) with healthy choices and decent prices for Maui. Happy hour was from 3-6pm and drinks were $3 for domestic beer, and $5-6 for fancy drinks. Thank you to Savanna for fantastic service - she always came by our lounge chairs to make sure we were taken care of.

We ate at the Ami Ami restaurant on site which was very good but a little pricey. If you are vegetarian, you must try the kale and quinoa wrap - absolutely delicious! There are loads of other restaurants nearby within walking distance.

The hotel is a 5 minute walk to Kameolli Beach 1 which is a very nice beach. Unlike in Kaanapali, Kihei has no beach path to walk or run on, but I ran to Wailea about 3km on the sidewalk and was able to find the beach path that goes along all the big hotels such as the Grand Wailea and the Fairmont. If you want details on how to get to this path, just email me. It's a beautiful run or walk - maybe 6-7 miles in total.

The biggest drawback to the hotel was that wifi did not work at all in our room. We were credited the $18 resort fee because of this. There were cruiser bicycles to use but no helmets if that matters to you. There's a little gift shop in the lobby which sells snacks and drinks, along with those Hawaii souvenirs at a decent price.

I would come back to this hotel for the friendly service, clean large rooms, nice pool area with restaurant and proximity to Wailea.

Room Tip: Ask for a room above the 4th floor and with ocean view.

The Maui Cost hotel was our home base for our travels on Maui. The Suites are large and clean. Bathrooms are spacious and bright.

Lobby is clean, bright, open, and the staff is always helpful.

The pool/Bar area is a nice place to relax. The choice of 2 hot tubs was great. at nights the one connect to the pool was always crowed, but the second was rarely used.

Parking is easy and hotel side entrances were great.

The rate was reasonable.

Room Tip: We enjoyed the suite with a king size bed.

This was our first time in Hawaii and were blown away by the friendly courteous staff at the hotel. Our room was spotlessly clean, well appointed and comfortable. Every need and want was looked after immediately. We would stay here time after time, its just that good!

Room Tip: Book as early as you can!!

Our first time in Maui and didn't book early so found that choices were limited. The Tripadvisor reviews of this hotel were spot-on! Clean, spacious room for our family of 4, quiet, friendly staff, reasonable price. Felt like the quality of a more expensive hotel but with lower prices because it is not directly on the beach and does not have the elaborate pool set up of a larger resort... but on Maui, you are never far from a beach so this was well worth it if you have a rental car.

Great place to stay! Hotel staff is amazing -- very friendly and willing to make your stay enjoyable! The only hiccup was the poolside servers...they were friendly but we often had to run them down to reorder drinks, get the check, etc.

Kihei is a fantastic location if you're looking for dry, sunny skies. Kamaole Beach is just a short walk across the street, along with gift shops, restaurants, bars, and general stores. Wailea, Makena, & Kahului are just a short drive down the road. Pa'ia Town, the beginning of Hana Highway, is also located just 30 min (give or take 5 min) away. Parking is included in your resort fee, which is also a plus! The hotel concierge gives an orientation on your first morning to give you a better idea of island excursions offered. A few lucky guests may even win a free trip! Overall a great place to stay of traveling to Maui.

The hotel hit every mark we could think of (cleanliness, friendly staff, comfortable beds, etc.). I highly recommend this hotel to anyone. If you want to really nitpick and find some problems, there were literally only two things we found: 1. The parking lot has tight spaces, hopefully they repaint the lines, 2. Our suite had an LCD TV that faced the couch/sitting area, but not the bed. But that's it. I'll take perfect five star ratings on the other things over those two minor infractions any day of the week. We slept perfectly every night and felt very comfortable there, we're DEFINITELY coming back.

Just came from there Feb 17-Feb 19, I'd give it 3-3.5 stars. Clean, not so quiet, internal couch/bed/bathroom things are a bit tired hence 3-3.5 stars.

Previous week in Maui was spent staying at condos via the VRBO.com site. The couple of different condos gave better value for the size/amenities for what you pay here, but the condos didn't come with maid service, but if you have a young family like me of 3 boys under 4, the extra space of condos at the same price with more pools/grounds to select from in hindsight is the way to go and leave the hotels for others...
