“Good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

We had to check out of our resort so we decided it would be convenient to stay the extra day near the airport. This is a basic hotel with a mom & pop feel. It was very clean and the staff was friendly. There is access to the waterfront (narrow "beach") behind the hotel for walking and fishing and we found some shells since it is part of the protected bay. The front desk said you weren't allowed in the water there, but we did see some kids swimming further down at a canoe club area next door. As I understand Hawaii law, beach access is a God given right, so you could walk down to that beach to swim. We went to the Saturday night seafood buffet and thought everything was well prepared and tasty. I would recommend it to anyone on a budget or traveling for business and would go back for a short stay if we can't get a flight out when our resort week ends.

My husband, son and I spent 4 nights at the hotel (2 rooms). We fond the hotel clean and comfortable. I was a little worried because of the price but was pleasently surprised. My sons room was fairly large but had no balcony while mine was pretty small with a balcony. I love the fact that it is so open to the ocean breezes. I will say I would not recommend the buffet. The food was cold and there was not much variety. The beach outside is small and is on a lagoon so there are no waves bt people were out in canoes and paddle boards, The hotel is in a great location. Food and attractions are very close and it is only about 5 minutes from the airport. A basic hotel the has everything you need without spending a fortune.

I travel to Maui every other week, and although there are indeed other hotels with more luxurious amenities, the Maui Beach Hotel offers a great location near the mall and restaurants, and its facility is impeccable for such a reasonable price. Most importantly, the service and friendliness of its staff is first rate. I basically benefit from great service at a reasonable rate.

This hotel is located very close to airport. We stayed here because we had to catch a flight early in the morning.
The room is good. It is clean. I remembered paying about five dollars extra for the parking.

this hotel is pretty basic, but the location is great. It's close to the airport a couple of malls. Many restaurants are close by, including the new Whole Foods with an amazing Asian section for a quick inexpensive lunch. After lunch go around the corner pass Long's for a local treat -- Guri Guri ice cream.

Room Tip: get a room on the 2nd floor. The 1st floor looks more tired.

did not mind staying in this hotel for one night, as a matter of fact, we have stayed there twice. but that was two separate visits, as other reveiwers have stated, not the full-on maui experience everyone looks forward to. the rooms are adequitely sized and all have a/c.not the place for veiws of the ocean, but at least the beds are comfy.

Room Tip: book with hotels.com for a cheaper rate

We booked this hotel for one night because it was close to the airport and had an airport shuttle service. The hotel is a bit tired looking and the rooms are quite small, noisy air conditioner and has ethernet but no WIFI. The hallway rugs present a tripping hazard because of cleaning the carpets so often, but the hotel is very clean and the staff exceptional and very friendly. I became quite ill and the staff was so helpful in getting an ambulance for me and then extending the room reservation a couple nights at a reduced rate for my husband. They also were so kind as to shuttle my husband to and from the hospital a couple times. Where else would you get this kind of service!!! It is a good value for a short stay.

Room Tip: Ask to view rooms available before selecting one. Some seem to be more updated than others.
