Owner description: Aloha and welcome to Mauis Garden Of Eden Arboretum. An Arboretum is a park dedicated to trees. We also feature hundreds of lowland rainforest species of flowers, shrubs, and ground covers as well.We began this project in1991 with 30 acres of densely overgrown jungle, now after investing more than 20yrs of physical labor and 2 million dollars, we have created one of Hawaii's most visited botanical gardens. We have many plants found nowhere else or are uncommon to Hawaii, such as rare Amazon fruits and medicinal species, endangered hardwoods, spice, exotic nut trees, ferns and so much more...A botanical Disneyland with over 2 miles of maintained graveled walking trails...A truly educational facility with over 700 plants botanically labeled. Try to allow at least 45 minutes to explore. We feature great views and photo opportunities but no direct access to the waterfall or pools. If you are only interested in restrooms (we now have improved facilities) You can do so for free 2 miles down the road.A portion of your entry fee is donated to the nature conservatory. The cost to keep our gate open averages $1,000/dy so we sincerely thank you for your support,,,especially those who have contributed beyond our entry fee. Most botanical gardens have teams of volunteers and use chemicals to curb costs. Our entire staff are well paid professionals, and we are almost entirely a chemical free park. Thank you for visiting, we do take your comments to heart

“Not woth the money”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2013

Driving the road to hana, it was recommended that we stopped in the garden of Eden. It was 15 dollar per person, not per car! And we decided to get in anyway. The view of the falls is from a big distance. The place is nice but I felt it was a total waste of time really. I would have preferred stopping in other places rather than this one.

“Beautiful and peaceful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2013

Lots of walking trails and well marked beautiful plants. Good view of a waterfall as well. Price of admission is a little steep, if you don't think walking around an extremely large garden is your cup of tea I'd skip it. That being said, my wife and I greatly enjoyed our time there.

“Garden of Eden”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

This botanical garden is truly heavenly and the acres and acres of trees, flowering plants and shrubs are a delight to explore.( Fortunately, many of the specimens are labeled.) The ocean view is stunning, as well. Several of the items in the gift shop are quite unique and make terrific souvenirs. Can't wait to tour the Garden of Eden again.

“Beautiful Surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

We went for a drive on the Hana Highway and came upon this wonderful spot. What a treat after driving the windy, two-lane road for miles. Lots of paths through flowers and trees of every kind and the best part was most everything was labeled. Beautiful!
