We spent three nights at Travaasa Hana during our Honeymoon on the Island. It was just perfect. Great service, very beautiful, excellent facilities and very well maintained. We actually booked it with a voucher from Travelzoo, that made the deal cheaper. I would highly recommend that.
Our only concern was food. There are no facilities to cook in the room and no microwave ovens too, just a refrigerator. So the only food options are Travaasa and the Restaurants around. But they are expensive and not great either. With my wife being a veggie, it was even tougher for us. The Hasegawa Store and Hana Fresh were our saviors. They has some good sandwiches and salads.
There is actually plenty in the resort for 3 days. The Spa was great, so were the pools. They have plenty of onsite activities in the Activity Center too. We did the horseback ride, it was good. The red sand beach is walkable, so is Hana Bay. Hamoa beach and the Seven Pools, Maui Stables, Hang Gliding with Armin, Black Sand beach and the Lava tube are options if you want to spend a day out.
In all, Travaasa was worth the drive and the money spent. The most relaxing 3 days we've ever had. I've never been to a better resort and doubt if i would find any this good in the future too. It was just gorgeous. Truly out of the world!
