We stopped in the afternoon to make a reservation as it was an evening that other restaurants were closed and we expected the restaurant to be busy. We had a nice welcome from the manager and thought the quirky atmosphere was charming. When we returned later that evening, we had a nice greeting from the manager and our server was pleasant and attentive. The back ground music was enjoyable.
I was hoping for pizza as good as NY or even Maui, but although it was fresh and tasty, it was not superb. There are many choices of beer on tap and they were better priced than the wine.
The owner came to chat at great length with people at another table that he knew. He did not stop at our table nearby and ask how we were enjoying our dinner. Generally, at a place like this, one doesn't expect more than a server to come to the diners table, but perhaps as a suggestion, if the owner doesn't spend the time in the kitchen, he may want to at least smile at the other patrons.
