A superb place to stay with exceptionally helpful staff.

If you want to experience luxury and quality in beautifully maintained grounds then this is the place for you. The attendant at the swimming pool does indeed clean your glasses for you. This is the only hotel I've ever stayed in which provides this service!

The Four Seasons Lodge at Koele Resort on Lana'i is a beautiful place to stay when visiting Hawaii. The resort is like the island of Lana'i, quiet, peaceful, sleepy and very friendly.

The property is one of the largest resorts in Hawaii, beautifully landscaped and well maintained. There are first class restaurants and a swimming pool with a game room for playing pool or shuffle board. You can also play a game of crochet on the outside lawn.

There is a world class golf course on the property which was under renovation while we were there. We were able to take their shuttle to their sister resort, the Manale Bay, a few miles away for golfing which is also a world class golf resort.

This was the perfect place to spend a few nights for our 45th wedding anniversary. The service we received from everyone was the best including a bottle of champagne from the management.

Incredible experience. We went back in 2009 and it was the trip of a lifetime. The executive golf course is a blast. We hiked on the trail (we bought the lunches to take with us and they were very good) and it was fantastic. Golf was amazing, especially the 17th. We only ate in the restaurant once, but it was fantastic. I suggest walking down into town and eating at the mom and pop places. Great value and very yummy food. Go buy some art from Mike Carrol as your souvie and support the locals. We stayed on the west side and got to see wonderful sunset after wonderful sunset. We took the ferry over to the next island for a day and enjoyed that as well. Room service was nice, the DVD selection was good for relaxing at night. The grounds are fantastic and simply incredible. Please go down into town and meet the locals. The story of the island is incredible and many of them worked the pineapple fields for many years. Go swimming down at the other resort, because getting there couldn't be easier. It is a bit pricey, but for the money you couldn't ask for more. If you want to relax and get away from it all there is no better place. Sorry about taking so long to review!

Room Tip: The West side rooms get great sunsets and are very quiet.

After a very active week in Maui, we retired for a few days to the Four Seasons Lodge at Koele on Lana'i. I have never been somewhere with staff so kind and attentive. Our children received their own special welcomes with a stuffed animal, robes, chocolate chip cookies with milk, and invitations to join the activities attendant for lawn bowling, croquet, a tour of the stables. They were also able to partake in the 9-5 Kids For All Seasons program held at Manele Bay, which was complimentary and (according to the kids) one of the highlights of their vacation. We hiked most of the Koloiki Ridge trail and hung out by the heated pool and hot tub surrounded by a perfectly manicured lawn, koi pond, pagoda, Cook pines blanketed by a layer of tropical fog. INCREDIBLE. I have never been anywhere so peaceful. Apparently half the resort is closed for active renovations, but other than the small number of guests, we would have never known. Around the pool and down at the beach (Hulopo'e), the attendants periodically provided complimentary treats including smoothies, crab salad bites, and infused water. I hope to return many times in the future.

I stayed at the Lodge for a long weekend with my parents and it was lovely. The service is amazing and exactly what you would expect from the Four Seasons.. Even so, I was so impressed by their attention to detail... My mom had asked for a pillow to put behind her back one night at dinner. Every time after that, someone would bring her a pillow before she even sat down.

In the evening, the ladies of housekeeping would set out my parents slippers and set out water by our beds while they did their turndown. I had a habit of putting out my sunglasses by the dresser. One night they slipped a little shammy for my sunnies underneath!

Another time, my mom had left her shirt rolled up in a towel and housekeeping had tidied up the room. One quick phone call to see if they still had it and the next day, my her shirt was laundered, freshly pressed and on a hanger back in her closet.

Little touches like that happened so often throughout our stay that it wasn't simply staying in a beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting that made our trip feel luxurious, it was the feeling of being taken care of and completely looked after. That was truly an experience. The staff at the Koele are simply amazing. Thank you!

Room Tip: The garden rooms were very nice - with a lanai and a little reading nook.

This place was amazing from the staff to the rooms to activities and grounds. The rooms are plush and homey- they are filled to the brim with everything that makes you feel right at Martha Stewart's magazine and every part of the grounds have facilities to keep you as active as you wanted or to settle down and read a book in amazing hawaiian weather surrounded but lush greenery. It's the best place in Hawaii to really be able to call it a relaxing vacation (it's important to make sure that you are looking for a relaxing vacation- to come here when you are expecting to be out in the sun and surf with all kinds of activities would mean you're going to have a bad time).
