“Amazing stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

If you want customer service, this is the place to stay! If you prefer a quieter hotel, this is the place for you! We love sleeping with our windows open and the cool breezes coming in. The restaurant was great and we were celebrating our birthdays and even had menu's with Happy Birthday Mrs. and Mrs. Walker given to us....a real surprise! The beauty of staying here, is you get cool weather and if you want some sun, you can hop on the shuttle and go to the beach where again, you will be delighted with the service. I enjoyed my mini smoothies, crab on crackers, etc. What an amazing place to stay....If you haven't stayed here.....DO. We did the Ocean Hale and Lea Hennessy organized the private dinner overlooking the ocean. If you want a special night with someone.....this is the place to do it. My husband is not overly emotional, but I can say he talked about this night for days afterwards! Thanks Lea!

This is a great hotel and the golf course is really beautiful. It's quiet in the mountains, not as busy and touristy as Manele Bay. There's a game room w/pool tables, TVs, shuffleboard, and an orchid house. The grounds are very pretty. Within walking distance of town but not the beach. The rooms are very nice with window seats, windows that open, and expresso machines. The temperature in the mountains is cooler than at Manele Bay so air conditioning is not needed.

Room Tip: Ask for a room NOT overlooking the parking lot!

The Lodge was a great surprise - the service, ambiance, food & decor were truly unique. You feel like you're in the mountains - and the Beach is only 20-minutes away.
Perfect for relaxation. We will be back!

This hotel is set in the highlands of Lanai City and was part of the overall ranch grounds found on Lanai. The hotel is small and intimate with rooms located at each end and the gathering main building which houses the suite rooms.

The fireplaces are like you see in a colorado lodge but the place is made special by touring the grounds, seeing the sculptures and ponds and making ones way to the chairs on the porches to read a great book and relax.

The world class golf course is only a walk ( short 2 minute drive away.) And there is an executive million dollar + put put course that is great fun. Just ask for clubs and a float able ball from the concierge desk.

This was not my first time but my first under new ownership (Ellison). The Oriental furnishings have all been removed and replaced with Polynesian artwork and woodcrafts, and the new decor is done very tastefully. The lobby and surrounding hotel grounds are absolutely gorgeous and very soothing for the soul. Don't pass on this location simply because it isn't located on the beach--if you are looking to relax, rest, and restore, you will find it here.

We travelled with our children, ages 4, 7, & 8. They loved the hotel! There was so much to do for the entire family. Dad played golf, we swam, played mini-golf, croquette, visited the horses, played in the game room, and listened to live music in front of an enormous fire place in the new lobby! Just a gorgeous hotel with something for everyone! We highly recommend!

Very first trip ever to the Island of Lana'i. The Lodge at Koele is simply beautiful! It is very peaceful and restful. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. You are treated especially special in every way. The grounds are beautiful and the food was quite excellent. The WiFi and TV are very good. Our room was with a garden view and was spacious and comfy. Loved it! I am sure it is much quieter then 4 Seasons Manele Bay. At The Lodge you can walk and enjoy the gardens and close by there are riding stables and small golf course. And then 10 minutes away there is the world famous Lana'i Pines. You are also close by small and quaint Lana'i City and there is shuttle service on the hour that can take you from The Lodge at Koele to Manele Bay it's sister 4 Seasons Resort with world class golfing and ocean activities. We prefer the quiet and serenity of The Lodge at Koele. You are able to unwind, relax with superb room service and dining with staff that are friendly, professional and want to make your stay memorable in a most positive way!

Aloha Ramona P,

Greetings from paradise! Thank you very much for taking the time to review your April stay with us. I enjoyed reading your wonderful account of your stay on the island, especially your mention of the beautiful grounds, friendly staff and excellent food. As you noted, the ambiance of the resort truly lends itself to a tranquil and peaceful setting in Hawaii's upcountry and there are plenty of options close by for more adventure - such as the horseback riding, golf and sporting clay facilities. I do hope we have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the near future. There are many more parts of the island waiting for you to explore.

Warmest aloha,

Alice Bouman
