The shave ice is great--some of the flavor combos are better than my mama's homemade ice cream. Be sure to get the ice cream on the bottom (if you are going to do it, you might as well do it right!). The drawbacks keeping it from a five star rating are that there is no place to sit (take it to the tiny little park across the street--and bring plenty of napkins if it is hot), the price for the really tasty ones are going to be about 6 or 7 dollars, and there is usually only one or two people working (which is a problem if a van pulls up with twenty hikers--and everyone wants to have one between 3 pm and 5 pm, so, yes, this is usually a problem!). If you are vacationing, you will get used to the high price, and just gladly hand those dollars over. Quality varies--get the ice cream on the bottom--and then it will definitely be a tasty treat. Oh--and don't get greedy with a large size--unless you can shovel it in fast enough and avoid a brain freeze, you will end up with a lot of sticky syrup melting down your hand.
