“Best Hawaiian View”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

The St. Regis Princeville Resort offers a truly unique Hawaiian experience. The 12 story resort is terraced down a hillside offering most rooms an unobstructed view of Hanalei Bay and the green covered surrounding mountain ranges of the Napali Coast. You are greeted to this view every time you enter both the resort and your room. Truly the best Hawaiian view I have experienced from any resort in the Hawaiian island chain!

As with all my reviews, here are the Pros and Cons:

Pros:
-Best hotel staff! Every member treats you like a VIP.
-Spacious, comfortable rooms with flat HD TVs and semi-surround speaker system. The bathrooms are large and offer an LED window pane that can obstruct your ocean view (for privacy reasons) at the touch of a button.
-Outstanding gym equipment in two separate workout rooms.
-Beautiful infinity pool with great poolside/oceanside service.
-Complimentary in-room wifi and daily WSJ newspaper service.
-Enjoyable nightly music entertainment in the Lounge. Great sushi offerings as well.

Cons:
-Mandatory valet ($30/day charge plus tip every time you need your car. The hotel states that this fee is in lieu of a resort fee, but a fee is a fee. Personally, I would like to see resorts diverge from the airline model and bring back a "one price" experience that does not leave the customer feeling nickel and dimed).
-Bland food options at poolside. This is the area that I think the resort can improve the most. They have such wonderful people serving you at poolside, but the food lacks the exciting flavors that can be found at surrounding restaurants in the area.

“Old hotel, amazing service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2013

First of all, don't go to Princeville if you want the typical Hawaiian, hot, sunny experience. I think Princeville is the most beautiful place on the Islands, but it's been rainy and chilly every time I've been.

The St Regis is also not your typical Hawaiian hotel. It doesn't have that indoor/outdoor feel you'll find at other resorts. It is beautiful with amazing views, but it's definitely closed in, and the lobby areas are COLD!

Also, none (most?) of the rooms facing the water don't have balconies.

The best part is the service - it's amazing. The staff is so wonderful, accommodating, etc that they make me give this property an extra star. (Without the staff, it's a 3 star.)

“Found Paradise!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2013

We have had the pleasure of spending time on this magnificent property. The beach is breath taking! As you descend by elevator to the beach from the cliffs above, the panorama takes your breath away! I do want to mention a very special pool and beach staff member who goes out of his way every year to attend to our every need, Josh Wagman. A delightful and engaging young man whose hospitality adds to our enjoyment each and every visit.
Bali Hai is in the distance, the snorkelling off the beach is great and we always seem to be able to find beach cots with shade..a huge plus. cant wait til next Year!

“Superb Property; Superb Service; Great People (Poor Restaurant)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

We so enjoyed this property that we stayed there twice in one year. The view of Bali Hai and the the welcoming folks at every part of the hotel are simply superb. It is really a bargain to use Starpoints for the experience that you get. We were greeted almost always by name. We stayed over Christmas this last time and the hotel was beautiful and had many holiday activities. The room was marvelous as was the maid service. The only issue was consistently poor service for breakfast at the Makana Terrance day after day, without fail... that is something that needs to be improved upon. If you have a car, take the drive beyond Hanalei for dinner to the Mediterranean Gourmet restaurant and arrive there just before sunset... what a true treat.

“Perfection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2013

What a perfect place to spend our two week honeymoon. The view from the St. Regis is spectacular. The staff (big THANK YOU to Noah, Kaipo, Josh, Scott, Mark and bartender Mike) made us feel like family. The wonderful service, friendly smiles and attention to details the staff provided each day made us feel we were special people on a special island in a special place!!!!
We were on the 9th floor with a view from a post card. Even the bathroom has an incredible ocean view! We had great personalized butler service, room service and coffee each day. St. Regis Princeville has mastered “personalized” service for their guests!
The beach was beautifully maintained, chairs and umbrellas provided each day, and snorkeling within steps. The pool overlooks the beautiful mountains and ocean, great drinks from the pool bar and friendly pool side (and beach) service! The property is so well maintained and picture perfect!

Room Tip: The 9th floor is a great spot. Close to dining and valet parking. The bar is within steps of the f...
