“Short but very sweet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at this property. I booked this trip to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday. The property is amazing but the staff are what truly make the stay so incredible. Our arrival was flawless and made us feel very special. Both check in by the Front Desk and Bellman was hospitable and informative. The team showed their passion and really engaged us.

Unfortunately, we had to cut our trip short as my mother in law was hospitalized. We really need to commend the team. While it was a difficult and emotional time for us, everyone at the hotel really went above and beyond to assist us. Uyalani (sorry if I misspelled) at the front desk was so compassionate and helped take the worries away. Her assistance was greatly appreciated. Victoria from the concierge helped to cancel our activity bookings without hesitation and again put us at ease.

A big heartfelt thank you to the St Regis team for a brief but memorable stay. We really appreciate all that the team did to assist us with our early departure. We look forward to coming back to enjoy a vacation at the St. Regis.

“Romantic escape.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

We stayed at the St. Regis for our first trip to Kauai and wonder why one would choose any other high-end accommodations on the island. We had a five-star experience: the food and cocktails were wonderful, the view was amazing, the room was very clean and comfortable, and the staff was amazingly helpful. They greeted us by name and accommodated our every wish from bag-carrying to great recommendations on off-property dining, helicopter tours, traffic advice and hiking trails. We did not need the concierge because the staff was very accurate with their directions and recommendations. As posted by another traveler, the fitness center is disappointing, but with so many hiking trails, walking paths and other activities nearby (golf, kayaking, stand-up paddling), who wants to spend their time in a fitness center?! We look forward to returning to Kauai and the St. Regis as soon as we can!

Room Tip: Higher floors have the best views.

“Too nice a staff, too spectacular a view to serve terrible food.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

Great rooms, unparalled view, and wonderful staff make for a memorable vacation. Duane at valet was most helpful each morning on our way out for golfing, hiking or snorkeling. However the food is awful. My first morning I was served cold waffles twice. My first dinner at the bar (wanted an informal dinner after flying 10 hours) was a $24 hamburger that was not as good as bad fast food. It is amazing that the staff is aware of this problem and therefore we ate in Hanilee every night. This was not always convenient as some nights we would have enjoyed dining at the hotel. We actually noticed many guests bringing food in their rooms for dinner. But for the food the stay was fantastic.

Room Tip: A view of the bay and mountains at sunset cannot be matched.

“nicely upgraded, killer views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

Nicely upgraded since we were here on our honeymoon 15 years ago. Starwood has definitely taken this property to the next level.

The location and views are about as good as it gets, the pool and breakfast are amazing. The walking path around the golf course to the village is a great way to start the day and there is plenty to do on the island.

Unless you really need a car, I would advise using the shuttles or a taxi service as there is a $30 overnight parking fee

If you decide to play the Prince Course, bring lots and lots of golf balls, lol

“Still a favorite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

This was our first trip to Princeville sine the hotel's remodel and rebranding. The service and staff were delightful. The valet staff at the door was particularly exceptional, with recommendations for e erything from yoga to beaches to restaurants. With these people in the first line of contact, they don't need the concierge.

As a traveler, though, it is hard to deal with the constant need for tipping. I would prefer that a reort like this give guests an envelop to type everyone when they leave.

Room Tip: Fourth floor reduces elevator time.
