We are a family of four and rented the Whalers Cover 134 deluxe 2 bedroom condo. While expensive for Kauai rentals you "get what you pay for". We rented through the Parrish collection and they were helpful with tours, and anything we needed. We had one issue with the pool being nonfunctional for a day and they provided us with another pool to use during the downtime for 24 hours. Those renting directly through the condo did not get this extended to them. The waves literally crash on the shore in front and lull one to sleep which is the only noise you can hear.
The condos are on the water directly without anything in front (like a road) , but they are not on the beach and you really need to drive (very short and easy) to the different beaches. Several are on the beach but most have a road in front which runs along the beach. Kualai plantations is another good choice and further out Kuali shores (? spelling) but NOT prince Kuoi . Watch out for construction nearby as this is an issue with other properties- I would ask when booking
We cooked on the grills by the pool and enjoyed the hot tub and pool and walked to some of the smaller beaches but they are quite rocky ones adn the gorgeous ones like Polihale, Manuala are all a drive no matter where you are.
The property has plenty of towels/ sheets/ beach towels and some beach items although most were broken (umbrellas) and thus could not be used. We did not have any boogie boards etc in the property but did rent them locally as we did with chairs and umbrellas.
Having a washer-dryer is a must and it enabled us to bring fewer things for the trip
Local supermarkets are easy but look for the BIG SAVE as the prices are much better
Internet was included and wireless hookup
A nice touch was the reading books and all the Kauai info and movies (like South pacific)
In all a perfect family rental

Huge well appointed condo's...... great helpful staff. Views from our deck were dominated by the ocean - not the "reach" that some ocean view properties claim. Sound of the surf at night is powerful during a swell (a few days during our stay), but still soothing and one of the reasons you pay to sleep to the sounds of the surf when on vacation. The pool is on a elevated platform almost surrounded on three sides by ocean below, and when particularly big waves during a swell hit the rocks below, you get ocean mist above. We came with a 2 year old, and the reports of non-tolerance for young children could not have been more inaccurate....all guests were more than gracious of his "learning to swim" trials, and many were highly amused.......Cable TV with 70 channels, wireless internet in the suites, free local calls, $ 60 discount at Poipu Bay Resort (former home of the Grand Slam of Golf with the four major champions of that year). discounted scuba diving through Whalers Cove , 3 min drive to four outstanding restaurants (Roys, Keoki's, Plantation Gardens, The Beach House), 6 minute drive to "The Sprouting Horn", a great blowhole on the shore, 45 minutes from Waimea Canyon State Park - we could not have been more satisfied with our stay ! We'll be back !!

we recently visited Kauai for the 3rd time, and this time our lodging was the best. we traveled a long distance from Austria (Europe). the condo was so big and comfortable. we called the front desk directly with our questions and informations and got the best service. the staff was very helpful and organised.
the view from our condo was fantastic, everything happend directly in front of our eyes. we could watch the whales, the snoklers and so on. actually we had the whole cove in front of our eyes. everything was like we saw on the website. and it was the best place we have ever seen on Kauai. we had to force ourselves to go out and observe the island because the condo was so amazing that we just wanted to sit on the terrace or at the pool area and watch and enjoy the cove and waves.
we really loved the two bathrooms, one with a whirlpool. also the kitchen was nice and full furnished so we used it a lot.
all in all we spend a whole week over there and at the end we had the pleasure to speak with the general manager -marianne martin- and promised her to come back as soon as possible. the whole crew is doing a great and fantastic job!
congratulations to your wonderful resort on the beautiful island!

all the best
Klaus and Andrea

This place was awesome. Beautiful rooms, excelent service from front desk, and a killer dive site on edge of property. Marianne hooked us up with Seasport Divers, the local shop, and did some way nice boat dives. I will return here.
