We stayed at Whalers Cove unit # 116 on the south shore from 5/2-5/8/04 and loved every minute. The condo is amazing! Literally feet from the ocean, very private and immaculate (no chickens or roaches!) Rent directly from the new owner, John Sanguinetti, ---------, e-mail -------------------- and save considerably. The offfice staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. We did a helicopter tour with Safari per staff's recommendation and were impressed with their safety-got a better price than listed-maybe b/c we made the reservation the night before or perhaps b/c we delayed commiting-at any rate, seems like prices are somewhat negotiable. Capt. Andy's dinner cruise (the Na Pali coast is breathtaking)-request boat with Raina as mate-she's awesome-very knowledgeable. Gay & Robinson sugar plantation & factory tour was fun & informative. Enjoyed lunch at Wrangler's Steakhouse in Waimea (order the kau kau tin lunch-served in reproduction tins like laborers use to take into the fields with them), Brick Oven pizza in Kalaheo is excellent but REALLY expensive as is grocery store in Koala--better prices at Star market in Kukui Grove shopping ctr. in Lihue. Pick-up all maps, pamphlets, 101 Things to do when you arrive at the airport--most everything has coupons. Most reasonably priced trinkets are at Spouting Horn Beach Park and generic T-shirts at K-Mart & Walmart. Traffic is quite heavy in Lihue both morning and afternoon-best to avoid this area at that time if possible. We had a great vacation.

Just arrived home from six nights at Whalers Cove - WOW! A full size condo with all the amenities for under $350 per night and it is located right on the ocean. We left our windows open at night and fell asleep to the sound of the surf. We looked at a star-filled sky, watched a full moon light up the ocean and viewed the sunset from the veranda. Add to this a great pool, a jacuzzi tub and nearby Poipu Beach - and we think we had a steal. There are several great hotels on Kuaui, but I think that none of them has all that Whalers Cover offers.

This place is the greatest. We booked directly with the property through Premier Resorts. It was so nice to have an awesome view, great staff to take care of us and housekeeping every day. This was a nice difference from the other agencies. And the price was about the same.
The staff at Whalers Cove is by far the best. They took care of our every need. But the best thing was the view. We even saw whales.

If you want to visit the real Hawaii-get to Kauai and if you want the best of the best call Suite Paradise as they have so many options to chose from. We chose #130 at Whalers Cove-WOW original art, marble everywhere, oceanfront and only 39 units on a point. Our shower had a large window that looked out over the ocean with complete privacy. Every upgrade you can image, great kitchen, DVD, CD, TVs everywhere, both masters have solid marble bathrooms. This is what Four Seasons wants to be. Want some heaven, try #130 Whalers Cove through Suite-Paradise........It is an end unit with lots of privacy but every comfort-we loved the path to the ocean and the edgeless pool.

We stayed at several places in Kauai (Hyatt, Sheraton, Hanalei Bay Resort, etc both on the North Shore and the South Shore. We loved Whalers Cove unit 116, 2 bedroom/2 bath we rented directly from the owners for half the price
195-225 that Whalers Cove normally charge 300-400. It was worth every penny. Oceanfront, private, full kitchen if you chose to cook, lanai, pool, jac.
The location was ideal, you are truly oceanfront. Unless you prefer crowds, this is the best place to stay in Kauai. Very clean, very comfortable, bugless! And everyone told me I would see a cockroach no matter where we stayed. (They were at the Hyatt) Well, Whalers Cove was the only place we stayed where I did not see a single bug. Cute keckos, but no Bugs.
The Hyatt was nice, but very overpriced and crowded. And for 335.00 a night (bargain rate) we had no view and had to walk a mile to get to the pool. At Whalers Cove, there are only 35 units, so it is very private.
