My husband and I stayed at Whalers Cove from Feb 24 to March 1, 08. We were married on Maui and decided to honeymoon in Kauai and at Whaler's Cove. We picked Whaler's Cove due to its seclusion and privacy. The complex is in great condition and offers fabulous views of the ocean. The swimming pool and hot tub are great and virtually no one uses them. So you can have the place all to yourself. They have handy BBQ's to use by the pool and wonderful gorgeous grounds to stroll around on. We stayed in unit 233, which is in building 2 on the top floor. Our condo was a 2 bedroom, 2 storey, with the master facing out to the ocean. Our balcony had a fabulous view of the ocean and pool area. We couldn't have asked for a better spot to spend our honeymoon. The unit had some really nice furnishings, but I hate to say that the condo is in dire need of a reno. It's decor is dated back to the early 90's. The carpet was dirty and a lot of things were very tired and worn. Plus, with the master facing the ocean, it is very very noisy from the waves crashing on the rocks below. There is no air conditioning, and you really don't need it, but if you do have a window open, it will be loud. There is construction going on across the way and you do hear it, but it didn't bother us at all since we spent most of our time touring the island.
Anyway, overall our stay was just wonderful and Kauai is a great place to visit. It is a beautiful place and we will definitely go back soon.
