My wife and I went to Kauai (again) to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. I had read about Poipu Kapili in guidebooks and on Trip Advisor, but our travel agent, a supposed expert on Hawaii, claimed not to know about it and tried to direct us to other places. That advice was ignored by me and I opted for Trip Advisor and the guidebooks and I am congratulating myself on my decision. What a wonderful place Poipu Kapili is!
We had unit 50 (for our 50th) and it was really swell with great views and everything one could want including a small cooler to take on picnics or whatever. The only problem was that the TV in the living room didn't work well although the one in the bedroom was fine.
The construction noise mentioned in reviews early in 2008 is no longer a problem and the traffic no longer is diverted to the road in front.
We would choose Poipu Kapili again without reservation.

I have stayed at the Poipu Kapili many times and have always found the accommodations above expectations.The staff were exceptional in taking care of me and I would HIGHLY recommend the Kapili to anyone!
Take a short walk out to the wall in the evening and ENJOY the BEAUTIFUL sunset!!!!!!

Our travel agent searched this place out for us. We were looking for a smaller, well maintained resort, with a nice pool and close to or on the beach. WOW what a hit she scored!! This place exceeded all our expectations. It was quiet, with a large, well maintained suite. We were within easy walking distance of all the amenities along the Poipu shore.... beautiful beaches, wonderful restaurants, stunning scenery!! We greatly enjoyed our 8 day say and would recommend this place to all from newly weds, families and empty nesters like us!!!

Poipu Kapili is a great place to stay. Some of the best snorkeling on the island is just walking distance away. Great place for surfing too from beginner to advanced. South swells during the summer are very common.

“At home in paradise”

Spent seven weeks at the Kapili and hated to leave. Due to my long stay there I spent my first three and a half weeks in number 45, a nice one bedroom condo overlooking the pool with a good view of the ocean. The furnishings were better than I had hoped for, the owners tried their best to think ahead and meet your every need. At the end of my first three and a half week stay I came back after work to discover that I was being moved to number 57... a two bedroom, premium oceanfront condo. What more can you say than both sliding glass doors (the one in the living room and the one in the master bedroom) looked right out over the ocean, which was about fifty or sixty feet away? Three blenders in the cabinets, a front and side lanais, and I was in heaven.
Every member of the staff is absolutely wonderful. I had one problem with the first condo I was in ... my bedroom ceiling fan stopped in the middle of the night (which can be quite uncomfortable in Hawaii). I called the office from work that day, they were most apologetic and told me that if the fan could not be repaired a new one would be in place immediately. Came back from work and they were true to their word.
I will be going back for the months of September and October and cannot wait. It truly is like being home in paradise.
