Our first trip to Kauai and lucky enough to celebrate my birthday while there. We picked Beach House for the recommendations here on TA for great views and very good food. We experienced both. We called about 3 weeks in advance for a 6 pm reservation. I would have preferred to eat a little later, but it worked out.
\When we arrived, the hostess took us right to our table right on the edge (windows opened). Just as reserved. But, the table was in the afternoon sun and my arms were burnt. So I asked if we could be moved (still empty tables and someone else probably would snatch up that seat!) and so we were moved to the shady area, but still right on the edge of restaraunt to overlook the lawn and ocean. This helped make me comfortable.
We enjoyed the crab cakes for appetizer and husband had the Seafood Corn Chowder which was SO surprisingly good and I had the Baby Green salad. I forget which type of fish we had that night, but I had the Yamae's Grilled which is served on couscous salad and he had the Truffle cursted Hawaiian catch/tiger prawn. For dessert we had the chocolate cake and requested a side of vanilla ice cream for hubby. It was ALL SO GOOD. We enjoyed it all and walked out of there WAY too full.
Our waiter was nice and took our photo on the lawn for us too. Our total bill with all the above, including 2 drinks and tip was $150. Sounds like a lot, but when you think about the wonderful view, the time you will be there and tasty food - it is worth it, especially for a special occasion.
