“It's all about the view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

Well, firstly, you can't beat this view. The restaurant is right on the beach facing in the direction of the setting sun. It also has open windows all along its length which allows for beautiful breezes to come and go as they please, thank goodness, because were it not for the breezes, you wouldn't be able to get the smell of carpet mildew out of your nostrils. We didn't have a full meal here, just cocktails and a few appetizers, but there were people all around us, from families to couples, young and old, hanging out and enjoying the sunset and their dinner, in that order. It's an institution, clearly, that could perhaps benefit from an updating of interior and menu, but honestly, it seems like a full house is all but guaranteed when the sun goes down. And, quite honestly, I have never had so many waiters and waitresses seem genuinely happy to have us there as this crew. The aloha spirit is the strongest through line, and the food that we had was decent if unmemorable. Our waitress was as friendly as I've ever experienced.

“very good food, but pricey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

We started with calamari(giant calamari-looks like fried mozzarella sticks!). I had the mac nut mahi-moist but not a whole lot of flavor and sauce was little overpowering to dish. Still fresh and good.Dessert (choc trio) was very yummy. Service was outstanding so was the view. But is it worth the money?eh if you have the money to splurge/blow then go for it- if you only get one nice place its a toss up.

ps- we went on new years eve but were celebrating honeymoon- we didnt get a special dessert or anything but they did give us a a very good table on a very busy night so that was appreciated

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2013

We went to the beach house on New Year's Eve. We had been there before on previous trips and enjoyed it a lot. The service was not bad but, I was not that impressed with food. One appetizer was very good, the other was very disappointing.

“A lot of $ . . . for OK Food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

The Beach House seems to be popular: we couldn't get a reservation until 8:30. The food was OK, but we've had much better, especially for the price. We had eaten at an expensive seafood restaurant in Maui a few days earlier and absolutely loved it. Protocol prohibits me to mention the name of the Maui restaurant, but you can find out the name by asking virtually anyone on the island.
After the Maui experience, our $120 meal (for 2) at the Beach House was a huge disappointment.

“Amazing sunset dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

My wife and I dined here during our honeymoon and the experience was spectacular. We timed our reservation to be there to enjoy the sunset and the view was amazing. The food and service were both amazing, I believe that this waste vest Ahi Tuna that I have ever had, perfectly prepared and exceptionally flavorful.
