“A variety of beaches in one”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

Yes, in this area you can go the tots area, to snorkelling areas, boogie boarding areas or surfing area. So much variety in a 20 minute walk on the beach. Please respect the sunbathing seals and turtles in the area too.

“Swimming With The Fish”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2014

A nice safe beach for families where you can swim or just sit among the beautiful fish. Also will likely see the endangered Monk Seals resting on the beach with the human visitors-- too cool.

“Nice beach, popular, crowded”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013 via mobile

This beach was very nice, but parking is a nightmare. I would get there early. The swimming area is pretty rocky but once you get past it there is a sandy area. Crowded and little privacy, lots of families, not the place to go for peace and quiet.

“Good all-around beach park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

We've been many times. It's a clean beach with a reef on the right that shelters part of the beach for snorkeling and paddle-boarding. The reef itself isn't pretty, but there are many colorful fish and the occasional honu (Hawaiian turtle), monk seal and ray. Some nearby snorkelers said they saw an octopus. The only easy entry point is near the center of the beach, and reef shoes make it easier. The left side of the beach has more wave action and lifeguards. Further to the right, there is surfing.
There are some trees giving shade, but it helps to bring an umbrella. "Amenities" include restrooms, foot showers, plenty of parking and food across the street.

“Excellent snorkelling, wonderful beach.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2013

Great beach, wonderful for Snorkeling. Plenty of parking, short walk, not crowded. There is a area protected by a rocky boundary that makes this area excellent for safe and pleasant snorkelling. Numerous types of exoctic fish to be found. Large area for snorkelling.
