“One of the Best in Kauai”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2014

On a recent five day visit to Kauai we ate dinner twice at Red Salt and breakfast each day, staying at the Koa Kea Hotel. All of the meals were excellent, beautifully prepared and presented, with the best local ingredients and inventive flavors and style. Breakfasts were amazing; best waffles we have ever had and several outstanding egg offerings (however, two recommendations for the chef - drop the breakfast burrito, way to large, bland and tasteless, and beef up the continental breakfast - somewhat skimpy for the price).

“Nice, but a bit overraited”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2014

Staff and food was good, but given price and altenatives in the area, I feel it was not worth it in the end. The restaurant is classy and the waitor was very Nice. You do however get used to the amazing sense of service on the island, so if you are quite young I would choose a place With a bit more atmosphere.

“Excellent Restaurant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 11, 2014

Great food (I focused on all the fish dishes), good wine selection (price-quality), excellent service! I look forward to returning soon.

“Absolutely the best restaurant in Poipu”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2014 via mobile

Service and food are excellent. We had the mushroom bisque as a soup starter. Seafood prepared perfectly, and a rack of lamb that was excellent.

The key here is excellent food and excellent service. Usually hard to find both in the same place.

“Good food without pretense”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 10, 2014

The food here is good but the atmosphere is lacking. If you are staying at the Koa Kea is very convenient or a good option for variety from the other good restaurants in the area.
