I gave this hotel an above average rating simply because of its location. I was staying at the Sheraton for six nights for business. The room itself was dingy, and a bit sketchy. As mentioned before, the bathroom is in need of a major upgrade with mold and dirt spots in places. My toilet frequently ran through the night as well. The flat screen TV was nice, as was having an open fridge. I didn't find the bed particularly comfortable and in fact found it quite worn. My biggest problem with the room, was the incredible noise coming from the room next door. It wasn't as if the people were talking incredibly loud, but I could hear everything they were saying, like it or not. I wasn't actually in my room very much or else I would have asked to move, but when I was, it was practically like our connecting door was open. When they watched movies/tv, I could hear everything they were watching. I'm not sure if all the rooms have connecting doors or not but If you do, perhaps note the volume at which you speak and watch TV. For the good things. Poipu is gorgeous, so naturally the Sheraton's beach is great. The pools aren't anything special, but the beachside pool is a nice place to relax. Shells (restaurant) couldn't have a better location, looking over the mini-bay within hearing range of the crashing waves. It seemed like the resort had lots of activities (which I never had the opportunity to participate in) which was covered by the resort fee. As a quick note, previous posters had mentioned the resort fee covering breakfast and some others had mentioned forfeiting a room cleaning for breakfast, but neither were options while staying there. I stayed in Building 5, which seemed to be one of the furthest buildings from the beach, but had the added perk of being one of the closest to the parking lot. I didn't like that the room door faced a hotel maintenance road with tractors and golf carts running throughout the day and night. All-in-all, the Sheraton is fine choice, especially for beach-goers, but if you plan on staying inside all day, perhaps another hotel is a better choice, but who goes to Hawaii to stay inside all day anyway.
Pros:
-Proximity to gorgeous beach
-Nice resort
-Ample parking
Cons:
-Dingy room
-Noise from connecting room
-Roosters wake-up call (inevitable across the island though)
