“Clean and comfortable but no beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

The beds were very comfortable and the place was clean, updated and roomy and air conditioned. My only negatives were that I couldn't have my coffee at the beach and they don't have a breakfast (just coffee and tang). Good staff. Quiet except for the morning roosters (can't escape that in Kauai).

We needed a place to stay before our timeshare started and Kauai Inn is immaculately clean surrounded by a beautiful garden and the price is right but not on the ocean. The pool is refreshing . They are no longer able to serve the delightful breakfast. The room is air-conditioned and the bed is outstanding. The wi-fi is great all over the property. The staff is very pleasant.

Room Tip: We stayed in 101 which is conveniently near the ramp. (There is no restaurant).

The Kauai Inn was recommended to me by someone who had stayed there. I was a little sceptical
but went ahead and booked it. It was the cheapest hotel on our 2 week vacation, but it was also the best by far.
Incredibly welcoming and friendly staff, beautifully maintained gardens/pool area. The rooms are old, but they're clean and comfortable.
I have stayed at a more expensive resorts with flashier rooms, but the facilities are crowded, the pools are over run by kids and it's very impersonal.
I felt at home at the Kauai Inn, sitting by the pool was so relaxing that I could have stayed there all day and not bothered going out sight seeing.
I definately recommend this hotel. I hope to return soon.

We stumbled upon this quiet little inn back in 2009. Back then we had originally booked at the Kauai Sands but left after entering the room and finding that the cockroaches apparently made reservations before us! We found ourselves scrambling to find somewhere to stay for the week. We called the staff at the Kauai Inn and they made us feel welcome the minute we got there. They even gave us a discounted rate! We simply cannot say enough good things about this inn. We just recently returned from our third trip to the island and our second stay at this inn. If your looking for all the glitz-n-glamour of the over-priced resorts then go waste your money there. If your looking for a quiet, CLEAN, friendly, reasonably priced place, then THIS IS THE PLACE! The rooms are a bit on the small side but have everything you need. I've seen some people complain that the inn doesn't have wifi in the rooms. That's true. If you must surf the web then you can access it in the pool area. Personally, the only "surfing" we do in Hawaii is where the waves break! This is a great, charming little spot on the island. We will be booking all of our future trips to the island at this inn.

The hotel was very good, with free breakfast (cofee and fruit) everyday but it doesn´t have wifi in the room, only in the pool. The rooms are very big and clean with microwave and freeze. Very good in general

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

Spent four nights here recently, and were quite happy with the place. It's not super fancy, and quite different from the big resorts. What we found was a wonderfully quiet little hotel that provided everything we needed. Room was a bit on the small side, and we had problems finding space for our bags and all our stuff. The A/C was very loud, but the room did get quite warm so we had to leave it on at night. We liked our little lanai with the view of the mountains in the back.
When we arrived, the woman in the reception made us feel very welcome, gave us some great travel advice and let us borrow guide books. There is free coffee/tea and soft drinks available, as well as some fresh fruit. Pool was nice and clean, and the little cat that wandered around the premises was a nice little addition.
We have no complaints, and will likely stay here again if we go back to Kauai.

We stayed on the first floor for just one night due to the fact that our plane arrived in Kauai late. Glad we had GPS so we could find in the dark, since street signs not always there. I was a great place to lay your head for a night. We ended up turning on the A/C for two reasons 1. we are from Seattle so it was hot for us and 2. It sounded like teenage girls were out on the street were partying. They have a nice little bar with coffee and tea for the morning. We weren't able to try the breakfast as we hit the road at 7:00 am and I believe the start breakfast at 9:00 or 9:30 am. Still nice to have coffee and tea. The only suggestion I would make is a drop box for the key for guests who want to leave before the office opens. So to sum it up, a nice, inexpensive stay. If you are picky this might not be the place for you.
