“Beautiful Falls”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2014

Wonderful view of the falls. Wish they trimmed back the bushes just a bit but worth the short drive. No hiking, simply park and walk to the wall to see them.

“Beautiful Falls”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2014

Wailua Falls, along with the nearby Opaekaa Falls, showcases the great natural beauty of Kaua’i!

Accessing Wailua Falls is easy, requiring a scenic ten minute drive off the main road, Highway 56. At the end of Maalo Road, a small parking area provides great views of the falls.

Even if you do not have much time, this is a great activity. You can see the falls and get back on the road within 30 minutes. Who doesn't have 30 minutes to see a beautiful waterfall?

To make the visit efficient, enjoy the falls early in the day. The small parking lot becomes congested during peak times. Sometimes local vendors sell souvenirs there.

Also, there is no access on the private property to the reach the bottom of the falls.

“Pretty falls”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2014

This place can get crowded and the road in can be a bit of a challenge. Once you get parked, it is an easy walk to view the falls. I did not see any trails from here, so really it is just a small road and a pretty view. In the morning, a rainbow forms across the waterfall and it is quite scenic. For those of who remember Fantasy Island, this is the falls where we heard, Da Plane, Da Plane! Tee hee!!

“Average Waterfall”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2014

We have come to these falls twice. We came on each visit to Kuaai. It is nice to see, but we did not find them to be spectacular. There must need to be a very lot of rain for them to be spectacular. Perhaps I am just spoiled by the many beautiful waterfalls here in Canada, especially the ones in the Rockies.
We did not walk down to the base as it was always quite wet and signs posted do not recommend it.

“it's a waterfall”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2014

All waterfalls are beautiful and you get a decent view of this one but what you want to do is experience a waterfall not just look at it. You can find lots of waterfalls on Kauai that you can swim under and that's fun. Try a kayak trip to Secret Falls or a easy hike to Ho'opiki Falls. Both relatively easy and fun - bring your bathing suit - or not- haha
