“Attentive Staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013

The restaurant is at the Marriott and we dined here our last night on Kauai, before heading to the airport. We had returned our car and didn't want to wander too far to eat dinner, so we decided to give Kukui's a try. We were promptly seated and soon had water. Service couldn't have been more attentive - the waiter explained the specials of the day and gave us time to look over the menu. Someone was constantly filling our water glasses as they barely got to half empty. We were given bread as we waited for our meal. I had one of the fish specials and it was very tasty. My husband had the Marriott burger, and he said it was good, as usual. Our waiter was very friendly and wished us a safe journey when we said we were headed to the airport. Dinner for the two of us, with tip, was around $50 which isn't bad considering where we were.

The restaurant is open-air and is adjacent to the pool. I believe if you are at the far end of the restaurant you can see the beach and bay. It is open for breakfast and lunch daily.

“Good Breakfast Spot at the Marriott”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

Had breakfast here twice for our two night stay at the start of this month. Pushing $50 for two with tip so a bit steep for breakfast, but the food and drink as well as the location are all quite good. The Sunday brunch is popular here. We just ate off the al a carte breakfast menu and were pleased with the offerings... unfortunately I don't recall exactly what I ordered at this point, but I'm quite sure I had the standard eggs, meat, potatoes, and toast one day.

Good choice for breakfast while staying at the Marriott Lihue especially if without a car. I'd certainly go back.

“Great breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

We had breakfast here twice during our stay, choosing off the menu rather than the buffet (which looked great, also). The eggs, omelettes, hash browns were all excellently prepared and generously sized! The poolside setting is relaxing and beautiful, nice but still casual, and service was good. Breakfast ran around $50 for two with coffee/tea and juice, very reasonable compared to other resort restaurant breakfasts.

“Wonderful location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

Thi restaurant located at the Marriott has some seating that is outside and right near the beach - fantastic for an evening meal. Our server was informartive and attentive. The Fish of the day was very good (I think he said it was Opa?) The large shrimp that came with it were a bit tough and not as good. The Chicken and eggplant parm were also tasty.

It is is pricey but I would say it was worth it.

“Good but expensive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

The weekly menu selections are ok but on the high priced side. The "all you can eat" buffets are better food , but at $50 per person, it isn't worth it.
