“Good food, great beach, arrive early”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

Had lunch here twice during our visit to Kauai - something for everyone in our group of eight: Nachos, Chicken stir-fry, Fish tacos, Fish and Chips, pizzas - great for kids who can be picky eaters. Food is fresh, consistent and comes quickly.

Service was friendly, fast and patient with our rowdy group. If you go for lunch, plan to arrive around noon. If the island is crowded, there may be a wait to be seated.

Bring some bug spray - both times we ate there I was bitten by mosquitos. Maybe it was just me? But it was annoying.

If you pack your swimsuit and towel, you can spend the afternoon enjoying Kalapaki Beach and strolling the Marriott grounds - the pool looks like old-skool Vegas :-Z

“Excellent lunch!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

We visited Duke's the day after having dinner at it's sister restaurant, Keoki's Paradise. I wanted to have a Kalua Pork Sandwich before we left the island, and I knew Duke's was good, having eaten here before.
It was sublime! Don't know how they do it but it is the best I've ever tasted! The pork is flavorful, and comes on a bun with a tropical spread of mango or lilikoi maybe? The restaurant is beautiful by itself, but the view over Kalapaki Bay is even more so! Be sure to check out the kitchen. It is glassed-in, and tiny! You wonder how they turn out so much great food. (There must be a prep kitchen elsewhere.)
Duke's is located at the Marriott near Nawiliwili Harbor. Since that is where cruise ships dock, Duke's can be busy when they are in port. (I never understand why people pay for an all-inclusive cruise, then go storming off the ship at every port to eat! Go figure? ;-)
Give Duke's a try. You won't be sorry!

“Another great dinner at Duke's”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

Always a great dinner at Duke's. The waiter was knowledgable, humorous, and interactive with my table. That adds to the positive dining experience. Great ambiance, but casual. I ordered a perfectly cooked prime rib and a baked potato. Of course we had to share the huge hula pie as well. Great service, good food, wonderful atmosphere, what's not to like in paradise? We'll be back the next time we visit Kauai!

“Sooooo many other great places than this!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

The waitress spilled my wife and son's drink all over them! Then saw her discussing it with the restaurant manager and saw them both laughing. At least another waitress had the courtesy to come over with some towels and club soda to help. Manager never came to the table to check on us and they even charged us for the drinks! JJ's Broiler is a stones throw away from this restaurant and a much better choice.

“Amazing "Hula Pie"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2013

Upon recommendation from many, we came just for dessert and the famous "Hula Pie". OMG! That's one incredible dessert! Price was $7.95 and better than anything from the Cheesecake Factory of comparable prices. It was to die for! Setting is right against the beach with splendid views! Would go there and do it again 100 times over!
