We stayed at Banyan Harbor for 5 nights and plan on going back next year. Other than having to climb stairs to get to our unit there were no complaints. The furnishings are a little old, but clean and the full kitchen was a great thing to have; it was also very nice to have our own washer and dryer in our unit. You can walk down the hill and across the street to the Anchor Cove Shopping area, as well as Harbor Mall, and there are a lot of places within walking distance to get something to eat. The pool is a walk up the hill but the views there are something to see. This place is not fancy but for the price you get a lot, it's like having your own apartment on vacation.

I booked one night here through an RCI exchange because I couldn't get into my timeshare in Princeville until the next day. I really liked the Banyan Harbor, it was super clean, spacious, airconditioners in the living room & both bedrooms, which was great for someone like me who is used to heat (being from Vegas) but NOT used to humidity! I was able to snag a wireless connection there too.

Nice easy stroll across the street to the shops & beach, crosswalks, a little further up to the left on the same side of the street was the Harbor Mall, fun shops & a nice restaurant, "something" Diner--great portobello sandwich.

Just about 5 minutes from the airport, talk about starting your vacation fast! Close to CostCo too. Make sure to check out Kilohana Plantation & take the train tour.

Some street noise, and wild roosters crowing at all hours, but otherwise, great place!!

Banyan Harbor is a unique property as it has owner occupied units, owner rental units and tiemshare units. I can understand some of the comments about the cleanliness and shape of the units.

We bought a timeshare at Banyan Harbor in 2005, sight unseen (gutsy, I know). Our first experience of the property was in 2006, before we had access to our unit. We stayed in a condo rental for two nights. It was like staying at someone's house. The furniture was a little dated but the unit was decent.

In 2007, we came to use our timeshare unit but arrived a day early so we "rented" the unit next door which is an owner rental. When we checked in, my husband was quite taken aback at how dated the unit was and how many stains were on the carpet and furniture. Since we had not staying in out timeshare unit yet, we were a little worried. When we move the next day to our timeshare unit we were pleasantly surprised at the difference. It was very clean, undated and fully stocked with amenities.

So I guess it depends on the unit you stay in as to how it is kept. I can say that the timeshare units are very nice and kept up to date.

We spent 2 weeks at the Banyon Harbour Resort, we rented directly from a private owner. The Resort was great, everything was very clean, the pool area was great, public washrooms always clean, BBQ areas clean. The location was incredible, walk to Kalapaki beach, the Marriot, many shops, restaruants, the ABC convenience/souvenier/liquor store!! An incredibly easy drive from the airport, to the main roads, the main shopping mall and Costco (cheapest gas). We were very pleased, after a day of site seeing, it was lovely to stretch out on a sofa, have a complete kitchen, 2 bathrooms and bedrooms, instead of a hotel bed! For what it's worth, we didn't see one roach! - or any bugs for that matter! Our unit did not have AC, but the ceiling fans were more than sufficient, our temperatures averaged 80 degrees daily. I'd say for economic and comfortable travel for a family or group, this is the best bang for your buck!
