“Gorgeous Resort. Highly Recommend!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

A group of friends and myself stayed at this resort for 4 nights at the start of Oct 2013. What an entrance! The resort was beautiful. Coming through to reception you can see the outdoor pools and gardens. The rooms were lovely with plenty of space and the bathroom was lovely also. If you use the WIFI in the room you are charge however free WIFI is offered in the foyer. The staff at the poolside bar were really friendly and attentive. There were 4 pools to chose from. One had a shallow area for children and a water slide, another had a volleyball net and the other two were quite deep. There are two hot tubs also that can be used up to 10pm at night. The far pool with the waterslide you can see the ocean which was amazing. My partner and I also got up early on the last morning to watch the sunrise and take some AMAZING photos! (worth it) We dined in the restaurant for breakfast each day as well as for dinner one night. We couldn't fault the food. If you are going to stay at this resort you are best to hire a car so you can travel to the local shops (can't walk). There is only one road that takes you to the north beaches which is worth the trip. The beaches are amazing! The Canyon is worth the trip also!!

My husband and I recently attended a convention at the Kauai Beach Resort. Although the room was nice, we were very disappointed in the accommodations. The bath tub drain was very slow, making it hard to take a bath. There was no reception to our cell phones which was very inconvenient. We also could not use our computer in the room. As for the food at the convention, my husband paid almost $25.00 for a very small bento. This was terrible. Not only was the bento small, it was dry and tasteless. We were very disappointed in the food at the hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to my friends and family and I would not stay there again.

Beautiful Hotel with great ocean views. The pools were wonderful and the walk along the coastline was stunning. Not a place for swimming but Lygate Beach is not to far and has walled in areas for adults and children which gives you a chance to snorkel and swim but at the same time not worry about the currents. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful, coy fish ponds when entering the hotel, beautiful gardens and a grand lobby. The only thing we found with this Hotel is just about everything is extra - from Wifi to daily parking fee's. That threw us off a bit. The bar made excellent drink, the food was very good and the atmosphere was upbeat & friendly ( Aloha Style) Our room was VERY clean and updated. There are so many things to do while on Kauai.
Best beaches - Lygate, Ke'e, Poipu, and barking Sands
Must see's - Waimea Canyon, Kilauea Lighthouse, Napali Coast, botanical garden, bamboo forest
Must do's - Go to Kauai Coffee, Captain Andy's Napali sunset dinner cruise, Kauai Backcountry Adventures tubing, The Fern Grotto boat tour and then Smith's Family Luau, horseback riding up country, island hop and ofcourse - beach hop!!!

Room Tip: Ask for ocean view and you can also ask to be put on an upgrade list

Everything about this resort was next to perfection! I read reviews on trip advisor for months trying to decide which place to stay at & I'm so glad I choose Kauai Beach Resort.

My fiancé & I got married in Kauai during our stay (as a matter of fact, after traveling the coast line looking for a beach to say our I Do's on, we finally decided on the beach behind this resort) The grounds are beautiful. Several pools & two hot tubs. The pool are has a cabana where you can get food & drinks while you're enjoying the sun. The staff is super friendly & accommodating. They always had a good recommendation for restaurants to eat at or sights to see. The rooms are clean & spacious. The beds & pillows are comfortable. We ate at the lounge for lunch & in the restaurant on property for breakfast every day. The buffet is fabulous! The location is close to the airport. We rented a car which was necessary if you want to see the island. I mean, how much better can a home away from home get?

I have to say that I'm typically hard to please being that I spent years working in the hotel industry. I have a high standard when it comes to these things & I was preparing myself for a let down of some kind, but this place hit the mark with everything, every time.

If I had any complaints at all, it would be about the *guest services* staff - the people you would go see to set up any sight seeing appointments (ie. boating, zip lining, hiking tours) Don't use them for anything. They will charge you way more than necessary & they're not very accommodating. Just ask one of the hotel staff (front desk or bell staff) for that information. They will be happy to oblige.

Just to let anyone know, in case you're wondering about bringing children here... we brought our 2-1/2yr old daughter on this trip. She LOVED the pool. It's very kid friendly.

I also had my hair done for my wedding day on site.. the woman who own that salon (Leonie Sosner) is brilliant. I have to write a separate review for her! If you want to know more about this place, feel free to contact me.

This place is quite remote. Came from Honolulu to see the canyon and am staying 2 nights. No local shops so have to purchase snacks and food on premises and that is not cheap. Definitely need a car unless you are happy with sitting by a pool all day as the sea is too dangerous to swim in. Lovely walk along the coastal path and lots of rock pools. Rooms are spacious, modern and clean. Entertainment is good for sending you to sleep. Everyone looks lost and bored here. Too quiet for me and restricted on what you can do in the evening. Wifi is free in lobby but 12 dollars a day in rooms. If you are looking for pure relaxation and you can afford the restaurant and shop prices then you will love it here. If you like to explore the island and area then hire a car.

Everything was fine and we enjoyed our staying - only complaint is the high prices for the in-room WIFI. In the reception is free WIFI and this is nice - but I still think that 12.99$ is far to much for in-room WiFI.

Pros - Close to the airport, the grounds are pretty, friendly staff, nice room. Cons - the beach is not great, the sandy pool feels more like rocks than sand, there are children EVERYWHERE at the pool, including in the hot tub - not relaxing. Overall - we had a good stay, no problems!
